Thousands of protesters gathered around the state security headquarters in Nasr City at around 4pm calling on the military to take over the building and prevent documents being torched as had taken place in other state security offices around Egypt.

“If you criticise the banks you reduce their credibility and then people worry about them. The important thing for the Governor of the Bank of England is to help them.”
We haven’t had to wait long for an outraged flurry of condemnation from the City for King’s inexplicable outbreak of honesty. However, the response merely confirms the banks’ solvencvy problems: they don’t need criticism , they need help i.e. another bailout.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Mervyn King said that “imbalances” in the banking system remain and are “beginning to grow again”.
But leading economists, including a former Tory advisor and the chief executive of the British Bankers’ Association, have criticised his comments.

Understatement is well known to be one of the most characteristic features of the British character. At Waterloo the following exchange was heard between two calvary officers:
“By Gad, sir! You’ve lost a leg.”
“By Gad, sir! So I have.”
This is the famous stiff, upper lip and it’s worth keeping in mind when evaluating the most recent comments of the head of the Bank of England, Mervyn King replying to the question of whether there could be another financial crisis:

When asked whether there could be a repeat of the financial crisis, Mr King says: “Yes. The problem is still there. The search for yield goes on. Imbalances are beginning to grow again.”
Bailout2 is on the way as the property market and household finances implode. This will be our last chance to make a stand and follow the magnificent lead of the Arab people.

The January 25 Revolution has lead many political activists and interested parties in Egypt to believe that greater political participation is required and will be possible. Upon that perspective, an unprecedented desire to form political parties has been growing. Many are in the process of being formed or registered, with a few already declared.
