In the immediate aftermath of the coup that deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, it looked as though the Muslim Brothers had decided to embrace all options, including violence, to regain their footing and demand Morsi’s reinstatement. In the heat of the moment, some Brotherhood members and their supporters waved flags associated with militant Islamist groups, such as al-Qaeda, and issued rampant threats against the deposed president’s opponents.

The Archbishop of Sebastia from the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Theodosios (Atallah Hanna) of Sebastia, made several statements about the current violence and chaos in Egypt as well as about the Syrian conflict and the gruesome deeds of the Takfiri groups in both Arab states in a meeting with figures from the occupied area of Jerusalem (al-Quds).

A 10-member technical committee entrusted with amending Egypt’s 2012 constitution has almost finished its task. The committee was formed under Article 28 of the constitutional declaration issued by Interim President Adly Mansour 8 July and is headed by Mansour’s legal advisor, Ali Awad.

As the situation in Egypt escalates, a source with very close ties to the Egyptian government tells Breitbart News that the country is preparing to send a diplomatic mission to Russia. While the Obama Administration sends conflicting messages about the conflict, Russia, China and Saudi Arabia have issued strong statements in support of the government’s crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood. America’s influence in the region is waning.

A good analysis excepting only one thing: it is Obama who has lead the dismantling of the MB networks. This became clear when Kerry openly snubbed Morsi on his visit to Egypt. The US then arranged regime change in Qatar, the leading player behind the Arab Spring, and must be suspected of the same in Turkey and Egypt. Yes, the Arab Spring has gone into spectacular reverse but this is due to a no less spectacular policy shift in Washington.

WHAT a difference a month makes! The biggest gainers from the Arab Spring were Islamist parties dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood. Tunisians, Libyans and Egyptians were broadly sympathetic to their decades-long struggle to join the political mainstream and were, to varying degrees, prepared to give them the opportunity to govern. Their opponents say they had their chance and they blew it. Simmering discontent came to a head in all three countries on June 30, 2012 when 33 million Egyptians called upon their military to rescue them from a government that failed to live up to its promises. That call was heeded on June 3 — and is now being echoed in Libya and Tunisia.
