In These New Times

A new paradigm for a post-imperial world

Archive for the ‘Ecological and Public Health Crisis’ Category

The reckless depredations of corporate power and neo-Malthusian enthusiasts within the elite threaten our environment and our very survival. EM radiation, disappearing bees and pollinators, heavy metal toxicity, GM crops and soil depletion are amongst the most immediate dangers we face.

Government response to school WiFi petition panned

Posted by seumasach on July 10, 2009

The government has received the Bioinitiative Report and therefore knows that the statement by the HPA that there is ‘no scientific evidence of any health risks’ is a barefaced lie.

In response to a petition calling on wireless technology to be removed from schools, the Government has pronounced itself happy with WiFi safety guidelines its critics have labelled ‘dangerously out of date’

Fears for the world’s poor countries as the rich grab land to grow food

Posted by seumasach on July 6, 2009

The control of farming land is a crucial issue, but who, exactly, is acquiring it? This article lists purchases by South Korea, Saudi Arabia which come to only about 1,500,000 ha out of  total purchases of 30 million ha. 8 million hectares have been acquired by South African interests. Are all these acquisitions really “to grow food for countries such as China and the Gulf states who cannot produce enough for their populations”? Couldn’t other players be involved? It is well known that a speculative bubble in farmland has developed with the collapse of the housing bubble and George Soros, who has been involved in buying up land in Argentina for some years, is once again to the fore. As the Anglo-Saxon financial system collapses the control of farmland, the ultimate real asset, becomes an issue not just for economic gain but for strategic control of the world.

John Vidal

Guardian

3rd July, 2009

The acquisition of farmland from the world’s poor by rich countries and international corporations is accelerating at an alarming rate, with an area half the size of Europe’s farmland targeted in the last six months, reports from UN officials and agriculture experts say.

Generation X-Ray: Child victims of Technological abuse

Posted by seumasach on July 6, 2009

ProLiberty

From the May 2008 Idaho Observer:

Generation X-Ray

Child victims of Technological abuse

Science from the ‘40s to present has demonstrated conclusively the harmful effects of microwave radiation—the platform upon which the entire wireless universe—cell phones, text messaging, WiFi, WiMax and RFID—is built. Yet the wireless network is expanding, with the approval of government “as fast as it can.” With virtually zero regulatory oversight, the nation and all the people, plants and animals in it, are bathing in microwave radiation so we can talk, Internet surf, email, text message and play online games wherever and whenever we want. The biophysical effects of enveloping our world in harmful radiation are becoming apparent. What happened to us? How could our desire for wireless convenience so totally suspend our innate survival instincts that we would ignore well-established science plus common sense and finance conditions on this planet that portend our slow and painful deaths without dignity? More embarrassingly, what happened to us that we would so readily allow our children to suffer wireless addiction, sealing their fates to short, sickly, neurologically-impaired lives? The answer lies in the recurring theme in this month’s edition of The IO: Education. As a culture, we are taught to accept a foundational matrix of LIES as “facts”—for generations—since birth. Within this matrix, we grow up morally relativistic and believe that the only past and futures that matter are connected to how we feel in the present. The dishonor this mindset does to our forebearers is shameful; the disservice we are doing to future generations is unprecedented in the history of mankind.

NATO bombings’ aftermath takes toll on Serbia

Posted by seumasach on July 4, 2009

Russia Today

2nd July, 2009

There’s a ticking time bomb in Serbia, where doctors have reported a sharp increase in cancer deaths among locals and claim this could be linked to NATO’s use of depleted uranium shells during the 1999 bombings.

The Truth Behind the Vaccine Cover-Up

Posted by seumasach on June 27, 2009

Alkalize for Health

I was asked to write a paper on some of the newer mechanisms of vaccine damage to the nervous system, but in the interim I came across an incredible document that should blow the lid off the cover-up being engineered by the pharmaceutical companies in conjunction with powerful governmental agencies.

European labs discover flu vaccines made by U.S. company are contaminated with H5N1

Posted by seumasach on June 24, 2009

March 2009 Idaho Observer

Proliberty

The Canadian Press reported on February 27, 2009, that Illinois-based pharmaceutical company Baxter International released “contaminated flu virus material” from its plant in Ortho-Donau, Austria, to another Austrian firm, Avir Green Hills Biotechnology, which then sent the now-contaminated vaccine product to sub-contractors in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany. The vaccine in question contained a mix of H3N2 and live H5N1 (current avian flu strain) viruses. The contamination was discovered when the subcontractor in the Czech Republic inoculated ferrets with the product and they all died. Since ferrets should not have died from injections containing H3N2 viruses, the product was tested and the contamination was discovered. Baxter claims the contamination was accidental.

Disappearing bees: “Gearing up” in order to dumb down

Posted by smeddum on June 18, 2009

The problem with the nature of this research is that it does not address CCD at all. What it does address is every other danger to the bees, which gives it some legitimacy. Again the effect of Electromagnetic forces on bees has been ignored, along with already made  studies by specialists in the field.  Here and here.
DNA filtering of dead bees has eliminated viruses as the cause of CCD including Israeli Acute paralysis (IAPC)
Mites and pesticides leave piles of dead bees inside or near the Hive.  Only the EMF explanation is capable of explaining why the bees get lost en masse, and do not come back to the hive.
The EU looks to be on the right tracks http://ec.europa.eu/health/opinions2/en/electromagnetic-fields/l-2/9-environmental-effects.htm ,the USA  and UK health agencies show no such promise

Colony Collapse Disorder Research Is (Finally) Gearing Up

A year later, here’s how $4.1 million in new federal honey bee research money is being spent.

A year ago USDA CSREES (Cooperative State Research Extension Education Service) awarded a $4.1 million grant to a group of university researchers for the express purpose of solving the current honey bee health problems confronting the beekeeping industry. Without actually nailing it down, this was a project to look into the current Colony Collapse Disorder malady and, over four years, find out what was going on. But at the same time the grant was to fund an extensive education program for beekeepers, and to develop as much information as possible so beekeepers could keep their bees healthy, and had a place to go for questions … and answers. Moreover, 25% of the funds were to go to study non-apis pollinators, such as bumble bees, alfalfa leaf-cutting bees and the like. To date, this is the only government money to be distributed to beekeeping researchers to study this problem other than normal budgetary funds to keep the USDA projects up and running. In Japan, it’s raining tadpoles

Posted by seumasach on June 18, 2009

The story below, from Japan is interesting because it may indicate that large birds are being disturbed by something shocking, while they are in mid flight.

Could electro magnetic radiation from cell phone towers and other antennas be the culprit?

EMR is certainly something that needs to be considered and investigated!

Japan is no stranger to heavy downpours during the early summer rainy season.

But in recent days the proverbial “cats and dogs” have been joined by tadpoles, fish and the occasional frog.

The FDA Protects Your Pets from Mercury But Not You — Until Now

The FDA used to be the world’s gold standard health regulator.  However, it has recently spiraled into a Byzantine phalanx of independent centers providing hasty approvals of high-risk products, without oversight, and inconsistent regulations.
