Paul Héroux has a problem. He believes he has identified a way to control the growth of cancer cells, but he can’t get his ideas into print. “We think we have the Rosetta Stone that will allow us to unravel the intricacies of cancer physiology,” says Héroux, a professor at McGill University in Montreal. Yet, one scientific journal after another has refused to publish what he has found.

Russia suspends import and use of American GM corn after study revealed cancer risk

Posted by seumasach on September 26, 2012

Daily Mail

26th September, 2012

Russia has suspended the import and use of an American GM corn following a study suggesting a link to breast cancer and organ damage.

Separately, the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA), has ordered its own review in to the research, which was conducted at a French university.

The decision by Russia could be followed by other nations in what would be a severe blow to the take-up of the controversial technology.

California soon to vote on mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods

Posted by seumasach on September 24, 2012

23rd September, 2012

Proposition 37, which would require mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) foods will be voted on in California on 6 November 2012. Recently, during just one week, a host of chemical, biotech and junk food corporations donated nearly US$25 million to try to kill this Proposition.  The “Big Six” chemical companies: Monsanto, DuPost, BASF, Bayer, Dow and Syngenta have contributed $13.5 million into fighting the Proposition. Pepsi, Coke, Nestle, and Kellogg, which provide information about GE foods to consumers in 49 countries but not the United States, have also contributed several million dollars. Letter to Dr. Perry Kendall Provincial Health Officer of British Columbia on wi-fi

Posted by seumasach on August 29, 2012

My letter to Dr. Perry Kendall Provincial Health Officer of British Columbia on Wi-Fi. Yet this letter applies to ALL forms of wireless in ALL countries:

August 24, 2012

Dear Dr. Kendall:

I agree with Mr. Robert Riedlinger and noted author Iris Atzmon of Israel that if Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman can implore the Education Minister of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, to immediately suspend installation of wireless internet in schools due to the well documented hazards of RF – EMF, Canada should be doing the same, as should all countries.

The biological impacts of the Fukushima nuclear accident on the pale grass blue butterfly

Posted by seumasach on August 22, 2012

Nature

9th August, 2012

The collapse of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant caused a massive release of radioactive materials to the environment. A prompt and reliable system for evaluating the biological impacts of this accident on animals has not been available. Here we show that the accident caused physiological and genetic damage to the pale grass blue Zizeeria maha, a common lycaenid butterfly in Japan. We collected the first-voltine adults in the Fukushima area in May 2011, some of which showed relatively mild abnormalities. The F1 offspring from the first-voltine females showed more severe abnormalities, which were inherited by the F2 generation. Adult butterflies collected in September 2011 showed more severe abnormalities than those collected in May. Similar abnormalities were experimentally reproduced in individuals from a non-contaminated area by external and internal low-dose exposures. We conclude that artificial radionuclides from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant caused physiological and genetic damage to this species.

The growing movement against electromagnetic contamination

Posted by seumasach on August 17, 2012

Chellis Glendinning

Counterpunch

8th-10th July, 2012

A global movement challenging the increasing presence of electromagnetic (EMF)/ radiofrequency (RF) radioactive contamination via “smart” gadgets and meters, antennas, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX is indeed afoot. Yet it resides in the shadows of popular awareness because the public communication media — who might, but do not report on the effort — are largely owned by the same corporate entities perpetrating the contaminating technologies, and they are motivated to not reveal the health and ecological dangers of wireless technologies. And so welcome to an unheralded, but vastly important, movement that is growing every day:
