Fate of Lakotahs Highlights America’s Failed Native American Policies

On November 6, South Dakota’s governor Michael Rounds declared a state of emergency as heavy snow blanketed the state and threatened all parts of it – including Native American reservations.

They, however, were excluded from his declaration. They’ll get no badly needed help, and it’s an all too familiar story for our nation’s original inhabitants. They’ve been abused and slaughtered for over 500 years. At Mabila, Acoma Mesa, Conestoga, the Trail of Tears, Pamunkey, Mystic River, Yellow Creek, Sand Creek, Gnadenhutten, and Wooded Knee. At far too many other places as well at a cost of many millions of lives, now forgotten and erased from memory.

Loretta Keller: Political roast reveals ruthless Rahm

Posted by seumasach on November 22, 2008

Pasadena Star

21st November, 2008

LAST weekend C-span1 re-aired a Nov. 5, 2005 roast by now President-elect Barack Obama and other Washington bigwigs. Far from being some mouthwatering food that comes out of a hot oven, a political roast is usually a fund-raising benefit dinner during which pols mock a hot target. They’re good-natured about it but they show no mercy.

Mystery of the vanishing sparrow

Posted by seumasach on November 22, 2008

So all we need now is to find out why the insects are disappearing. ITNT is not offering any prizes for peer-reviewed studies on this question since EM radiation is already being used commercially to eliminate insects. Given the growing level of electrosmog it is questionable how long this will continue to be commercially viable. Perhaps that is why they’re moving on to using it against rats, an inspirational business start-up in contemporary Britain. The effect of EM on insects has been confirmed to me by Duncan MacFadyean, chief scientific officer for Oppenheimer’s. What kind of future do we face without insects? A short one.

It’s taken eight-and-a-half years – but The Independent’s £5,000 prize for explaining the disappearance of the house sparrow from our towns and cities finally has a serious entry, with a serious theory.

The Need for Global Leadership

Posted by seumasach on November 22, 2008

Cailean Bochanan

22nd November, 2008

Born out of our opposition to Washington and London’s drive for global hegemony and the wars which stemmed from it iransolidarity.org, endofempire.org and inthesenewtimes.com have sought to highlight, above all, both the sovereign nation state, as a barrier to empire, and the emerging multipolar world order. There is now no doubt that this multipolar world order is now becoming a reality before our eyes. The latest NIC US intelligence assessement appears to take this fact on board. Or rather, it pays some lip service to it whilst actually gloating over the prospect of a world in which none of America’s competitors can displace it as global leader. One gets the sense that global anarchy is the prefered option now that the dream of global empire has perished in  Iraq and Afghanistan. In rather the same way the senatorial elite in the late Roman Empire reconciled themselves to the empire’s demise, even helping to bring it about by the look of it, confident that they could “handle’ the new Germanic kingdom’s and reinventing themselves as a feudal landowning class. Obama’s advent could well herald this new phase of US power: Obama the handler as opposed to Bush the bomber.

US global dominance ‘set to wane’

Posted by seumasach on November 21, 2008

The US is having to accept the decline of its hegemony, but never mind:”global warming” will trigger “food and water scarcities that could fuel conflict around the globe”. If they can’t rule at least they can  make sure no one else can. Judging by this European parliament resolution the pollinator crisis is likely to do provoke food shortages  imminently. However, the same people who so obsessively talk up “global warming” show no interest in the pollinator crisis(notably, the Greens, of course). This should be food for thought.

BBC

21st november, 2008

US economic, military and political dominance is likely to decline over the next two decades, according to American intelligence agencies.

US clout will weaken as China and India grow more powerful, the National Intelligence Council (NIC) predicts in its latest report on global trends.

The US dollar will no longer be the world’s major currency and food and water scarcities will fuel conflict.

Plight of bees threatens food production say MEPs

Posted by seumasach on November 20, 2008

“Three quarters of food production (76%) is dependent on bees and 84% of vegetables grown in Europe depend on pollination.”

In other words , we are on the verge of extinction. By drawing attention to the seriousness of the crisis this resolution has to be seen as a step forward. however, if we are to really confront the problem we are going to need the courage to take on powerful and sinister interests; this issue brings us face to face with the mob itself.

For background on the disappearing bees and EM radiation see:

European Parliament

Immediate action is required to tackle the drastic decline in bee colonies throughout Europe and the rest of the world, say MEPs. The decline in the number of bees poses a threat not just to honey production but to the pollination of plants and hence to food production. Parliament adopted a resolution on Thursday pressing the Commission to take action. Read the rest of this entry »

Chinese Automakers may buy GM and Chrysler

Agoracosmopolitan

20th November, 2008

Chinese carmakers SAIC and Dongfeng have plans to acquire GM and Chrysler, China’s 21st Century Business Herald reports. LINK A National Enquirerthe paper is not. It is one of China’s leading business newspapers, with a daily readership over three million]. This newspaper cites a senior official of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology– the state regulator of China’s auto industry– who dropped the hint that “the auto manufacturing giants in China, such as Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and Dongfeng Motor Corporation, have the capability and intention to buy some assets of the two crisis-plagued American automakers.” These hints are very often followed with quick action in the Middle Kingdom. The hints were dropped just a few days after the same Chinese government gave its auto makers the go-ahead to invest abroad. And why would they do that?
