Doctors refuse to take H1N1 vaccine

Mumbai: About 80% of the state medical fraternity is unwilling to be vaccinated against swine flu.

Of the total 34,000 doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff in
the state working to treat swine flu patients, only 5,300 have showed willingness to take the swine flu vaccination.

“The others are reluctant to be vaccinated with the imported H1N1 flu vaccination,” said Dr DS Dakhure, the state director for health services.

He told DNA that last week, a list of the people working as paramedics at the isolation wards, including government and private hospitals and clinics across the state, was sent to the Union health ministry.

Explaining the reason behind their reluctance, Dr Dakhure said, “There are rumours that the imported vaccine can have serious side effects such as paralysis or urticaria (dermatological ailment). We are unsure how Indians will respond to this vaccine [manufactured by a French firm]. The union health ministry has ordered 1.5 million doses only for the high-risk category (health care workers).”

Hah! Shows that the whole idea of a single currency was a nonsense. It’ll never work, you know. Not without a superstate. You wouldn’t catch us in the farmyard with the Pigs – the unflattering acronym being used to refer to the Mediterranean economies of Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain. What basket cases!

On Saturday afternoon of February, 14, 2003, my wife, another couple and their son and I arrived at the home of our dear friend Edda West near Nelson, B.C., Canada. We had dinner and spent the evening talking about a variety of things. When we decided to retire late that evening, we gave Edda a copy of the December edition of Current Concerns — an opposition newspaper from Zurich, Switzerland.

When we awoke the next morning, the morning after the 58th anniversary of the Dresden bombing, Edda described how she had stayed up for hours reading the survivor account of the Dresden bombing in Current Concerns.

What’s Up With That

13th February, 2010

Science is what we use to explain anomalies, to elucidate mysteries, to shed light on unexplained occurrences. For example, there is no great need for a scientific explanation of the sun rising in the morning. If one day the sun were to rise in the afternoon, however, that is an anomaly which would definitely require a scientific explanation. But there is no need to explain the normal everyday occurrences. We don’t need a new understanding if there is nothing new to understand.

Mistral et Lafayette pour les Russes, Sukhoi et Mikoyan pour les Français

Posted by seumasach on February 14, 2010

Bookofezekiel3′s Blog

While many will no doubt see it as a source of consternation, the election of Viktor Yanukovych as president of Ukraine is really a cause for celebration. The defeat of the leaders of the Orange Revolution, Viktor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, is actually good news.

WHO Admits The World Has Lost Their Trust

Posted by seumasach on February 13, 2010

Dr Magda Havas, PhD

Almost everyone that reads the papers, watches the TV or listens to the radio has now heard that the H1N1 pandemic did not pan out as was anticipated, and is causing the World Health Organization to come under fire by health officials that spent billions of dollars on vaccines that are now useless.
