The European Union (EU) is planning to assemble an independent intelligence body of its own in “an urgent response” to the recent revelation that the US has been spying on EU officials as well as European citizens.

There’s something rotten in the state of Denmark- but things are looking up! How anomalous and un-NATO- like for them not to plunge into a new bombing campaign.
NATO can’t be the world’s policeman, travelling from country to country, solving all the problems.

Having marginalised ourselves in Europe we are now in a difficult position as the USA engages with China. Britain’s only realistic course is a constructive engagement with Europe but we prefer to dream the Atlanticist dream to the last.

On May 20th, world leaders will meet at the NATO Summit in Chicago, where the future of hundreds of US nuclear weapons deployed in Europe is on the agenda. Let’s tell them it’s time to get these weapons out of Europe, sign the petition below!
The Cold War has been over for more than 20 years. Keeping US nuclear weapons in Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy makes no sense. These weapons are relics of a bygone age: they are dangerous, useless and expensive and do not address today’s actual security threats. We urge you to remove these weapons from Europe. You have a historic opportunity to take the next critical step toward a world without nuclear weapons.

Of course, the reason Russia isn’t part of NATO is that NATO is directed , primarily, against Russia. Still, calling for Russian membership is a good way of neutralising NATO and such a call coming from senior German defence figures is enormously significant.

C’est bien cette échange d’équipement avec les Russes. Les Français devront acheter des Su-35 et des Mig-35, et laisser les Russes acheter des Mistral et des La Fayette.
La France et les autres pays d’Europe devront être autant ami avec les Russes qu’avec les Americain. C’est le temps de finalement sortir des ombres de l’empire, on ne veut pas devenir le Vichy des Americains, comme Tony Blair en Bretagne, ou le Mexique.

Bankrupt or not, Britain seems intent on reaffirming itself as a military-imperial power whatever the cost. We continue to fail to see that the game is up for the cause of full spectrum dominance and that the London-Washington-Tel Aviv axis is doomed to defeat. We need now , as a matter of urgency, a movement for imperial retreat and the dismantling of the MIC. Britain needs to reduce its military to that of an average nation and seek to rebuild friendly relations with the rest of the world especially our creditors. Only in this way can we find the funds and continued capital inflows to finance a programme of national civil reconstruction which can prevent us becoming a failed state.
