SHIPPING CRISIS.
At the moment in Argentina and Brazil, there is a glut of shipping vessels and very little cargo. In what is known as the slack time between November and March.
Global shipping is facing the worse crisis in decades, cargo rates have fallen by 90% since July of this year and the shipping boom has turned to bust. Read the rest of this entry »

Right up until the commodity bubble burst this summer, there was the ridiculous theory going around that the world was now “decoupled” and that European and emerging markets would somehow avoid being affected by the US slowdown. These decoupling theories disappeared as oil dropped like a rock, only to be replaced by an equally ridiculous idea: that the world’s economic pain would be spread evenly. This is wrong. Although the entire world is going into a recession as a result of the credit crisis, some economies are better prepared than others to weather the storm.

So it’a OK for the US to set up missile systems in countries neighbouring Russia, but not OK for Russia to sell missiles to countries bordering countries the US has invaded.

U.S. officials say they want answers from Russia on whether it is selling advanced surface-to-air missiles to Iran. The U.S. insists such a move could threaten American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A new report by the U.S. Army War College talks about the possibility of Pentagon resources and troops being used should the economic crisis lead to civil unrest, such as protests against businesses and government or runs on beleaguered banks.

The Dictator announced his relief-package for the Big Three yesterday: The media is calling it “a Christmas-gift.” This is a LOAN-agreement: Gift’s do not come wrapped in razor wire. This too-little-too-late proposal is meant to bring an end to the problem of having to pay anyone, for whatever they do on-the-job in the United States.

With the US armed forces, sworn to the defence of the constitution, in decline and depleted by the Iraq and Afghan quagmires, a new “homeland” command, set up in 2002 under Eberhart, the man responsible for air defence on 9/11, is already in place. This force is set to play a key role as the American people are marginalised by the financier interests which control the country.

KABUL, Afghanistan | Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Michael G. Mullen on Saturday said the Pentagon has “revised” its counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan, noting that any solution to the current crisis must include Pakistan and India.
He also said the United States would send up to 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan — the largest force increase yet mentioned by a U.S. military official.
