Syria: The Western Deception over regime change unravels. NATO prepares for all out war

The Western governments’ and mainstream media’s narrative of a one-sided humanitarian crisis in Syria is rapidly unwinding to reveal a self-serving deception to justify a re-run of Libya-style NATO conquest. In reality, it is the Western powers and their Israeli and Arab henchmen who are fuelling a humanitarian crisis and creating the conditions for all-out war. All of which, it should be said, constitutes criminality comparable to Nazi Germany’s wars of aggression.

Why Putin is driving Washington nuts

Forget the past (Saddam, Osama, Gaddafi) and the present (Assad, Ahmadinejad). A bet can be made over a bottle of Petrus 1989 (the problem is waiting the next six years to collect); for the foreseeable future, Washington’s top bogeyman – and also for its rogue North Atlantic Treaty Organization partners and assorted media shills – will be none other than back-to-the-future Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The UN Secretary General was reported on March 3 saying that he had received “grisly reports” that Syrian government forces were arbitrarily executing, imprisoning and torturing people in Homs after retaking control of the Baba Amr district from insurgents. Syrian rebels are armed by outside forces, including Turkey: report

Posted by seumasach on March 8, 2012

Hurriyet

8th March, 2012

Syrian rebels are being armed by outside forces, including Turkey, according to reports and officials from Russia, Iran and Egypt.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister accused the U.S. government and Arab countries of arming the rebels a few days after talks with Russianofficials. Robert Baer, a former CIAagent serving in the Middle East, claimed last August that the rebels were not receiving weapons only from Iraq, but from Turkey as well.

Similar allegations have been voiced by Times journalists Richard Beeston and Charles Bremner, who said Turkey was turning a blind eye to shipments of arms to Syrian dissidents. The allegations were immediately denied by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Egypt has also warned against an upcoming civil war if the flow of weapons from outside forces continues, echoing previous statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

NATO training rebels

Several media outlets in the region have claimed that NATO bases are being used to train rebels, including camps in the eastern Anatolian province of Hakkari.

Qatar and Saudi Arabia are reportedly supplying funding for the training.

WikiLeaks reveals US presence

There is a strong and active NATO presence in Syria’s region, according to the leaked emails of a U.S.-based global security analysis company, Stratfor, that were recently released publicly by the whistle-blowing site WikiLeaks.

An analysis director at Stratfor describes U.S. teams in the region as “ready and focused on training the dissident forces” in an email about a Pentagon meeting.

Stratfor is known as a shadow CIA and has reportedly been involved in massive intelligence gathering.

On Monday, in calling for airstrikes on Syria, Senator John McCain reprised much the same role he played one year ago at the outset of the Libyan war. Last April, during a highly publicized visit to the cradle of the Libyan rebellion in Benghazi, Senator McCain called for increased American military support for the Libyan rebels. The senator famously described the rebels as his “heroes.”

Posted by seumasach on March 5, 2012

Strategic-Culture

This month Washington whose commitment to fighting drug production in the US occupied Afghanistan is widely called into question rolled out a new plan of coordinating the activities of Central Asian republic’s anti-narcotic agencies. The initiative was, however, promptly blocked as potentially counterproductive by Russia, the country hit hardest by the Afghan drug output.
