LAHORE: Of the 60 cross-border predator strikes carried out by the Afghanistan-based American drones in Pakistan between January 14, 2006 and April 8, 2009, only 10 were able to hit their actual targets, killing 14 wanted al-Qaeda leaders, besides perishing 687 innocent Pakistani civilians.

Paris liberation made ‘whites only’

Papers unearthed by the BBC reveal that British and American commanders ensured that the liberation of Paris on 25 August 1944 was seen as a “whites only” victory. Many who fought Nazi Germany during World War II did so to defeat the vicious racism that left millions of Jews dead. Yet the BBC’s Document programme has seen evidence that black colonial soldiers – who made up around two-thirds of Free French forces – were deliberately removed from the unit that led the Allied advance into the French capital. By the time France fell in June 1940, 17,000 of its black, mainly West African colonial troops, known as the Tirailleurs Senegalais, lay dead. Many of them were simply shot where they stood soon after surrendering to German troops who often regarded them as sub-human savages. Their chance for revenge came in August 1944 as Allied troops prepared to retake Paris. But despite their overwhelming numbers, they were not to get it. ‘More desirable’ The leader of the Free French forces, Charles de Gaulle, made it clear that he wanted his Frenchmen to lead the liberation of Paris.

Abstract:
We have discovered distinctive red/gray chips in all the samples we have studied of the dust produced by the destruction of the World Trade Center. Examination of four of these samples, collected from separate sites, is reported in this paper. These red/gray chips show marked similarities in all four samples. One sample was collected by a Manhattan resident about ten minutes after the collapse of the second WTC Tower, two the next day, and a fourth about a week later. The properties of these chips were analyzed using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The red material contains grains approximately 100 nm across which are largely iron oxide, while aluminum is contained in tiny plate-like structures. Separation of components using methyl ethyl ketone demonstrated that elemental aluminum is present. The iron oxide and aluminum are intimately mixed in the red material. When ignited in a DSC device the chips exhibit large but narrow exotherms occurring at approximately 430 °C, far below the normal ignition temperature for conventional thermite. Numerous iron-rich spheres are clearly observed in the residue following the ignition of these peculiar red/gray chips. The red portion of these chips is found to be an unreacted thermitic material and highly energetic.

IN reference to the Reflection entitled “China: the future great economic power,” taken from CubaDebate and published in our press on Monday the 30th, the majority of international news agencies only reported my criticisms of Biden’s statements in Viña del Mar. Only EFE devoted a few lines to the principal subject of the article at the end of its dispatch.
However, the mainstream press continues talking about China’s forceful economic power. Yesterday, the 29th, the DPA news agency stated that “China took the United States by surprise with its daring proposal to replace the dollar, as the central international currency, with a new ‘supermoney.’” It goes on to note that China is fighting against the dominant power of the United States in the world financial system, echoing the opinion of the Chinese Central Bank, which considers the crisis and its consequences throughout the world to be a reflection of the internal fragility and inherent risks of the international monetary system that its country wishes to change via a new reserve currency. In support of its thesis, it alludes to the fact that the famous British economist John Maynard Keynes proposed a global currency in the ‘40s.
The same cable points out that “China is aspiring to obtain an executive position within the IMF, an agency to date dominated by the United States and which, in line with G-20 precautionary measures, must assume national financial systems.”
“As the largest of the emerging countries, China exerts more influence in terms of poor states, particularly hit by the crisis.”
It reiterates in its argument the known fact that China, with a total of $740 billion in U.S. Treasury securities, is the principal creditor of the United States.
It should not be overlooked that Germany, headquarters of the DPA central office, is concerned at the ruinous role that U.S. economic policy is exercising on Europe. Germany is currently the industrialized country which exports the highest percentage of its GDP. The economic crisis is affecting it more than any other.
Word public opinion has the duty and the right to know more about the economic problems of a crisis that is presently hitting all the peoples of the world.
