Ukraine elects ‘kamikaze’ cabinet

Posted by seumasach on February 27, 2014

In a display of people power, the so-called ‘Euromaidan’ council made the announcement, while also naming candidates for several other key ministries, after its members addressed crowds on Independence Square.

For “people power” read armed NATO-nazi gangs

“This is a government which is doomed to be able to work only for 3-4 months … because they will have to take unpopular decisions,” Turchinov said.

3-4 months is optimistic.

Andriy Paruby, head of the “self-defence” force protecting the Kyiv protest zone from police action during the three months of conflict, was named secretary of the powerful National Security and Defence Council.

British “anti-fascists” fail to spot fascist coup

Posted by seumasach on February 27, 2014

The Socilaist Worker’s Party which has claimed the vanguard role in the fight against fascism since the 1970s has failed to spot the fascist coup d’etat in Ukraine limiting itself to the casual observation that “some of the fascist street fighters have been offered jobs alongside the police”.

In fact , the riot police have been disbanded and according to EuroActiv “Andriy Paruby, head of the “self-defence” force protecting the Kyiv protest zone from police action during the three months of conflict, was named secretary of the powerful National Security and Defence Council”.

The “fascist street fighters” are being integrated into the regime. That sounds like a fascist regime to me.

“As fighting intensified the reliance on far right militias grew. But so did the depth of opposition to the president.” Oh well, in that case… I mean, if the it’s about breaking “Ukraine’s Stalinist ruling class”!

Poland as the ‘Slavic Turkey’ of NATO destabilization

Posted by seumasach on February 27, 2014

Andrei Korybko

Voltairenet

22nd February, 2014

Poland, the eager American servant that it has been, has now officially taken on the role of the ‘Slavic Turkey’ in relation to Ukraine. Just as Turkey has been a geopolitically convenient conduit for arms, personnel, and material support for the Syrian terrorists, so too has Poland begun to officially fulfill this role for their Ukrainian counterparts.

The entire world is disturbed by the events in Ukraine. The heart of the matter must be understood. The Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, as a left opposition party that has fought and continues to fight against the domestic and foreign policy conducted both by the Orange forces under Yushchenko and by the alliance of the Party of Regions and the Communist Party of Ukraine, under Yanukovych, finds it necessary to present our evaluation.

Maidan refuses to disarm

Posted by seumasach on February 26, 2014

The media have suddenly gone very quiet on events in Ukraine but then celebrating a fascist coup doesn’t look very good. I can only assume they intended to use these elements to provoke a crackdown and consequent civil war and were wrong footed by Yanukovitch’s ceding of power to them. This article reveals the conflict in Maidan Square as Tymoshenko’s camp try, in vain, to disarm the right wing groupings.

El Maidán se niega a desarmarse

El Pais

24th February, 2014

Ashton appeals to Russia

Posted by seumasach on February 25, 2014

Ashton seems to realize that Russian support will be crucial in getting the EU out of this mess. Cosying up to Russia won’t endear her to the Maidan men however! Of course, she has committed the EU to nothing by way of financial support- Ukraine to be left to tender mercies of IMF. This is the mother of all messes.

Feb 25 (Reuters) – Russia should behave like a good neighbour towards Ukraine and let it move forward in the way it chooses after three months of unrest and conflict, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said on Tuesday.
