17/09/08 “MRZine” — — The U.S. State Department lodged a sharp protest over ongoing Pakistani missile strikes and ground raids today, saying the Islamic Republic was violating American sovereignty.

“We will try to convince Pakistan . . . to respect [the] sovereignty of the United States — and God willing, we will convince,” State Department Spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.1

The controversy stems from the Pakistan Army’s recent decision, leaked in a prominent Pakistani newspaper, to mount intensifying air attacks and new ground assaults against extremists hiding in American safe havens across the ocean. Read the rest of this entry »

ANDOVER , MASS. (Sept. 13)— President Bush’s conduct in office has precipitated a “most serious constitutional crisis,” “one that has already transformed the U.S. from a constitutional republic to an elected monarchy,” a noted political scientist told a conference on seeking prosecution of high Bush administration officials for war crimes. “We need to revers[e] a fifty-year trend towards unaccountable secret government, which can commit crimes with impunity,” said Professor Christopher Pyle of Mount Holyoke College.

The Baby Killers

We can never be reminded often enough of the murderous, bloodthirsty nature of this failing empire.

by Richard Neville

Global Research, September 13, 2008

I keep promising myself not to mention the wars for these reasons: the invaders couldn’t care less about their crimes or their critics, my friends think I’ve become a ranting bore and many of today’s citizens have more pressing worries than the serial massacres of toddlers in badlands. Bad stuff keeps happening. It keeps being denied. And is soon forgotten. Read the rest of this entry »

Posted by alfied on September 2, 2008

“Our relations with the Russian Federation have actually gone beyond the special,” Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told reporters at the Victory Day reception in Ankara.

It’s amazing what results the application of a little gentle pressure can have. Expect Turkish vessels back in their own ports by Friday.

ANKARA – Turkish Daily News

Under the convention, vessels from countries that do not have a coastal area on the Black Sea can stay in the sea for up to 21 days.

Our country has been hijacked and the Democrats have proven themselves to have been in on the plan. When it came to the Constitution, the Democratic leadership showed us that aiding and abetting illegal spying on us was more important to them than protecting our civil liberties.

In the race among global oil majors to re-enter Iraq, China scored the first win.

While Western oil firms have been trying to access the world’s third-largest oil reserves since the 2003 U.S. invasion, state-run China National Petroleum Corp. secured the post-Saddam government’s first major oil contract. The $3 billion oil services deal, signed Wednesday, revised the terms of a 1997 agreement to pump oil from the Adhab oil field. The contract replaces a production-sharing arrangement with set-fee technical services. Read the rest of this entry »
