Cette première séance exceptionnelle, en présence du réalisateur, le journaliste Franco Fracassi, marquera le début d’une série de projections à travers la France, mais aussi la Suisse et la Belgique. Brown continues his strutting and fretting on the world stage tirelessly pursuing the chimera of another century(or is it a thousand years) of Anglo-saxon world hegemony. Given that the game is up Brown has to be commended for his “never say die” attitude, However, said or unsaid, the empire is dead.

The talks come on the second leg of his tour to lay the groundwork for next week’s crucial G20 summit in London.

Wall Street’s most storied firm is surviving on taxpayer dollars

While it was singed in the credit meltdown, Goldman Sachs, the alpha male of Wall Street, has emerged as a survivor. The cover of last week’s Barron’s heralded the resurrection of Goldman and Morgan Stanley – “the sole standouts,” as Andrew Bary called them. The company’s shares have rallied back above $100, and its market capitalization is nearly $47 billion. Goldman’s emergence from the wreckage could be seen as yet another glorious chapter for the firm. Charles Ellis, in his book about Goldman, The Partnership, lionized the firm as the only company “with such strengths that it operates with almost no external constraints in virtually any financial market it chooses, on the terms it chooses, on the scale it chooses, when it chooses, and with the partners it chooses.” For the paperback, Ellis might want to add the following proviso: so long as the government is willing to give it billions of dollars.

The Malthusian campaign is really getting into gear now under the cover of a supposed global warming: thirty million of us must go. I spent 24 hours in the slammer the other day. My crime? Well, the police couldn’t tell me when they locked me up. The prosecutor and judge couldn’t either, when I was arraigned the following day. I found out for myself when I researched the matter a few days after being released: I had been cited for walking my dog off the leash – once, six years ago.

A somewhat belated post but it’s good to see opposition to NATO and missile defence emerging in Poland. Of course, the first thing Obama did was to send some patriot missiles to Poland. For NATO and the empire control of Poland remains a top priority, just as in the days of Mackinder who summarised it’s significance (since Eastern Europe means above all Poland as a barrier between Germany and Russia) as follows:
“Who rules East Europe commands the Heartland;
Who rules the Heartland commands the world-island;
Who rules the world-island controls the world.”
