Common Dreams

9th February, 2009

In December, reports surfaced that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson pushed his Wall Street bailout package by suggesting that, without it, civil unrest in the United States might grow so dangerous that martial law would have to be declared. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), warned of the same risk of riots, wherever the global economy was hurting. What really worried them wasn’t, I suspect, the possibility of a lot of people thronging the streets with demands for social and political change, but that some of those demands might actually be achieved. Take the example of Iceland, the first — but surely not the last — country to go bankrupt in the current global crash.

To Bee Or Not To Bee

Posted by seumasach on February 9, 2009

Gerald Goldberg, MD

Rense.com

30th October, 2007

Colony Collapse Syndrome (CCS) poses a serious risk to bees as well as to global agriculture. Bees are critical not only in producing honey, but also serve as the main crop pollinators for one third to one half of the agricultural produce in this country. Bees are pivotal in their role as plant pollinators. Many of the crops that depend on bees are many of the berries and fruits, as well as citrus crops. Additionally bees are critical to maintaining the viability of many of the nut crops that are produced, i.e. cashews, pecans, almonds etc. Another role is that bees are necessary also in pollinating many of the crops that are necessary to establish many of the crops that are used to restore the soil, i.e. clover and other species. There has recently been noticed an epidemic of die-off of bees, or perhaps more correctly the total disappearance of bees from their hives. What is noticed in many of the hives that are put out is that after a certain period of time, is that the hives become vacant or empty. There are no bees to be found. Also what has been noticed is that other opportunistic insects will avoid the hives as well.

Iceland-On holding the tycoons accountable

Iceland Weather Report

8th February, 2009

Yesterday I got all bundled up and headed down to the weekly Saturday demonstration, in the freezing cold. Yes, the demonstrations are still being held, although the number of people in attendance have dropped substantially. Yesterday there were 500-1,000 people there, including a group of four Germans who came to Iceland expressly to find out what Kaupthing has done with their savings.

Thimerosal: A Missing Link in Denmark MMR-Autism Study

Posted by seumasach on February 8, 2009

Vaccineinfo.net

11th June, 2002

Today, the New England Journal of Medicine has published an article which
refutes a link between MMR and autism using epidemiology. This study was
released last week to the major media by the CDC, its major funder along
with NAAR. Since then, the CDC PR machine has been working very hard to spin
the conclusions their own way. Obviously, they want to put an end to any
more discussions and research on vaccines and autism.

Washington and other US states claim sovereignty in possible move to check martial law

Posted by seumasach on February 8, 2009

That the State of Washington hereby claims sovereignty under
HJM 4009 p. 2
1 the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all
2 powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government
3 by the Constitution of the United States; and
4 (2) That this serve as a Notice and Demand to the federal
5 government to maintain the balance of powers where the Constitution of
6 the United States established it and to cease and desist, effective
7 immediately, any and all mandates that are beyond the scope of its
8 constitutionally delegated powers.

I am unable to assess the significance of this declaration but a number of states have seemingly passed such motions and it  it has been suggected that it is a response to the possibility of martial law. The Arizona Sate Legislature seemingly includes this

“…if the President or any other federal entity attempts to institute martial law or its equivalent without an official declaration in one or more of the states without the consent of that state … individual members of the military return to their respective states and report to the Governor until a new President is elected…”

Given that Obama is persisting with the bailout and therefore the sacrificing of the American people to the greater goal of banker welfare martial law must be regarded as a possibility. The pieces have been in place for some time for such a move.

Biden: ‘Dangerous’ U.S.-Russia relations

Posted by seumasach on February 8, 2009

The danger, of course, is this, or as Biden put it “the possibility of Russia dominating or intimidating countries on or near its borders, many of which used to be Soviet republics or communist bloc countries.”
“We will not recognize any nation having a sphere of influence. It will remain our view that sovereign states have the right to make their own decisions and choose their own alliances,” he said.

In other words these countries have to lie within the US sphere of influence. The continuity with the Bush era is evident in the hubris and lack of touch with reality which continues to characterize US policy. The USA is imploding and badly needs to make friends rather than enemies.

Washington Times

7th February, 2009

Buzz up!Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Saturday described a “dangerous drift” in relations between Russia and democratic nations — and laid out the Obama administration’s prescription for fixing it — during an address to world leaders at a meeting in Munich.

Ecuador expels US embassy official

Posted by seumasach on February 8, 2009

“Correa also said that he would allow US coast guard airplanes to land on Ecuadorean soil, a request made earlier by Heather Hodges, the US ambassador, only “on one condition: that we be allowed to vet the pilots of those planes, so that they don’t sneak criminals into the country.”

Eldib

Correa, who enjoys a 70 per cent popularity rating, will run for a second term as president in April polls.

Renowned Scientists Issue Wake-up Call on EMF and RF Radiation Hazards

This crucial document released in August 2007 needs to be circulated as widely as possible.

Renowned Scientists Issue Wake-up Call on EMF and RF Radiation Hazards
bioinitiative.org

State University of New York at Albany / August 30 / An international working group of renowned scientists, researchers and public health policy professionals (The BioInitiative Working Group) has released its report on electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and health. It raises serious concerns about the safety of existing public limits that regulate how much EMF is allowable from power lines, cell phones, and many other sources of EMF exposure in daily life.
