I’ve said all along that whatever good changes might occur in regard to non-foreign policy issues, such as what’s already taken place concerning the environment and abortion, the Obama administration will not produce any significantly worthwhile change in US foreign policy; little done in this area will reduce the level of misery that the American Empire regularly brings down upon humanity. And to the extent that Barack Obama is willing to clearly reveal what he believes about anything controversial, he appears to believe in the empire.

Isn’t it fitting that Britain, as it gallops towards the edge of the cliff, has a man of Brown’s calibre in the saddle.
Brown was recently called a “one eyed scottish idiot” by an unsavoury British TV presenter called Jeremy (who has since recanted on the scottish part of that statment).
No doubt Brown would take abuse like the that on an hourly basis, in preference to what Sarkozy has meated out to him.

Earlier this week, our new Prime Minister wrote a polite letter to the three directors of the Central Bank of Iceland and asked them to kindly resign because, you know, THE PARTY IS SO OVER FELLAS. She also kindly asked them to have an answer for her by Thursday. It is now Friday, and they have not deigned to give her – or the Icelandic nation – a proper response.
