NATO launched nearly 3,200 attacks with depleted uranium bombs against civilians in Libya. This is the denunciation of the special envoy of Telesur, Rolando Segura. The total number of air strikes launched by the Atlantic Alliance against Libya is over 8,400 already. Almost 40% of these involved use of depleted uranium munitions, revealed the South American television journalist in his Twitter profile.

General Ratko Mladic’s arrest and his extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia were prerequisites for Serbia’s membership in the European Union. This has now been done. As expected, the western media have tagged the defendant as the “Butcher of Bosnia” and piled on as many charges against him as possible, thereby masking NATO’s role in Yugoslavia. But there can be no reconciliation without truth, which, as Slobodan Despot observes, is far more complex than the Manichean account given.

This is big news and exposes the depth of the debt crisis. UK banks, still in existence thanks to UK taxpayer largesse and now facing a new round of bad debts as the UK property market implodes, have found a new carry trade lending back to the government the funds the government lent to them and pocketing the interest rate difference. What’s more, they are just about the only purchasers of UK bonds left. How long can the bankrupt bail-out the bankrupt?

Banks bought 91pc of the £39.8bn of net issuance of new gilts with purchases totalling £36.1bn, compared to the £11.4bn of UK debt bought in the preceding six months.

The insane nonsense about climate change is simply de riguer and should be discounted: bees have survived millions of years of climate change including dramatic and catastrophic climate alterations far beyond anything we are experiencing at the moment. What matters here is that the disappearance of the honey bee so apparent in the West is also happening in India and that, unlike here, the connection of CCD to EM radiation provenant from the mobile phone network is being investigated at official level.

There might have been a difference of opinion between the classical Greek dramatist Aeschylus and British romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley regarding the circumstances of the release of the Titan god Prometheus from captivity: whether it followed reconciliation with Jupiter, as the classicist thought, or a rebellion, as the romantic insisted. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), meeting in Kyiv at Standing Committee level, today called on European governments to “take all reasonable measures” to reduce exposure to electromagnetic fields, especially to radio frequencies from mobile phones, “and particularly the exposure to children and young people who seem to be most at risk from head tumours”.
