The White House and U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are urging Americans to return to the stone age for their own safety.

“After discovering that ‘thermal expansion’ of steel from a low-temperature fire led to the collapse of World Trade Center building 7,” said NIST spokesperson Noh Wei, “we started realizing that other metal objects might also be at risk”.

Dear Friends,

On 22nd July 2005, 27 year old Jean Charles de Menezes was shot 7 times in the head by police officers at Stockwell tube station as part of a pre-planned anti-terrorism operation. No one has been held responsible for his death.

After more than three years, the inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes will finally open on 22nd September. It is expected to last three months.

The inquest will be the first chance the family of Jean Charles will be able to put their questions to the police officers responsible for his death. It will also be the first time we will hear evidence from the fire-arms officers who killed Jean and the civilian witnesses to the killing. The inquest will be taking place at the Oval Cricket Ground in South London and Jean’s mother and brother will be coming over from Brazil for part of it.

The Justice4Jean campaign is organising a campaign meeting for all supporters to discuss what we can do before, during and after the inquest to raise public awareness of the inquest and to remind people that that three years on, still no one has been held responsible for Jean’s brutal killing.

Nuclear Chicken in Poland

Nuclear Chicken in Poland
Putin Can’t Afford to Back Down

By Mike Whitney

“Don’t blame the mirror if your face is crooked.” Vladimir Putin quoting Russian proverb

24/08/08 “ICH” — – If the Bush administration proceeds with its plan to deploy its Missile Defense System in Poland, Russian Prime Minister Putin will be forced to remove it militarily. He has no other option. The proposed system integrates the the entire US nuclear arsenal into one operational-unit a mere 115 miles from the Russian border. It’s no different than Khrushchev’s plan to deploy nuclear missiles in Cuba in the 1960s. Read the rest of this entry »

O’Reilly: Far-left crowd may spell defeat for Obama in November

Posted by seumasach on August 23, 2008

This article seems to confirm how advantageous the Georgia debacle has been to the McCain camp. In one fell swoop the Republicans have stolen the Democrat agenda, torpedoed it and left the wrong-footed Obama camp looking whimpish as McCain beats the war drums. US foreign policy may be in total disarray but all that matters to the Republicans is to hold power come by hook or by crook. A 5% lead in the polls plus a bit of electoral high-jinks should be enough to see them through.

Bill O’Reiily

23rd August, 2008

If Barack Obama somehow loses the presidential race, he might partially blame Vlad “the Assailer” Putin. Since Russia invaded Georgia, the world’s attention has been focused on NATO’s response to the brutality. On balance, the response has been tepid, to say the least. President Bush says Russia better get out.

Or what?

Obama is calling for “restraint by both sides.” Swell. Asking Vladimir Putin to restrain his violent tactics is like asking al-Qaida to celebrate Christmas — not gonna happen.

Marching through Georgia

Posted by seumasach on August 22, 2008

Iraq-war.ru

Bring the good old bugle, boys, we’ll sing another song;
Sing it with a spirit that will start the world along,
Sing it as we used to sing it, fifty thousand strong,
While we were marching through Georgia.

“Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the jubilee!
“Hurrah! Hurrah! The Flag that makes you free!”
So we sang the chorus from South Ossetia to the sea,
While we were marching through Georgia.
How the darkeys shouted when they heard the joyful sound!
How the turkeys gobbled which our commissary found!
How the sweet potatoes even started from the ground,
While we were marching through Georgia.

“Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the jubilee!
“Hurrah! Hurrah! The Flag that makes you free!”
So we sang the chorus from South Ossetia to the sea,
While we were marching through Georgia.
Yes, and there were Union men who wept with joyful tears,
When they saw the honored Flag they had not seen for years;
Hardly could they be restrained from breaking forth in cheers,
While we were marching though Georgia.

“Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the jubilee!
“Hurrah! Hurrah! The Flag that makes you free!”
So we sang the chorus from South Ossetia to the sea,
While we were marching through Georgia.
“Putin’s dashing Russian boys will never reach the coast!”
So the saucy Rebels said, and ’twas a handsome boast;
Had they not forgot, alas! to reckon with the host,
While we were marching through Georgia.

“Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the jubilee!
“Hurrah! Hurrah! The Flag that makes you free!”
So we sang the chorus from South Ossetia to the sea,
While we were marching through Georgia.
So we made a thoroughfare for Freedom and her train,
Sixty miles in latitude, three hundred to the main;
Treason fled before us, for resistance was in vain,
While we were marching through Georgia.

“Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the jubilee!
“Hurrah! Hurrah! The Flag that makes you free!”
So we sang the chorus from South Ossetia to the sea,
While we were marching through Georgia.
