The reckless depredations of corporate power and neo-Malthusian enthusiasts within the elite threaten our environment and our very survival. EM radiation, disappearing bees and pollinators, heavy metal toxicity, GM crops and soil depletion are amongst the most immediate dangers we face.

Statement regarding Dr. Poul Thorsen’s involvement in Aarhus University projects

Posted by seumasach on April 6, 2010

This statement confirms Thorsen’s “primary scientific and administrative oversight” of  the CDC Denmark project, a collaboration involving studies which found against a mercury-autism connection. It also confirms the disappearance of funds and that “Aarhus University will not be able to collaborate with Poul Thorsen in the future.”

Statement regarding Dr. Poul Thorsen’s involvement in Aarhus University projects

Aarhus University has decided to issue this statement in response to a num- ber of requests on the part of CDC Denmark project partners.

Issue: The extent and nature of Dr. Poul Thorsen’s continued involvement in the CDC Denmark project for which he once provided primary scientific and administrative oversight, as well as of his continued relation to Aarhus Uni- versity.

Background: The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation (DASTI) has been a grant recipient as part of a cooperative agreement with the US National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, CDC, since 2001. The grant has been administered by Odense University Hos- pital and Aarhus University (AU) under the direction of Dr. Poul Thorsen. The grant has multiple components and involves collaborators at other insti- tutions in Denmark, including the University of Copenhagen and SSI (Statens Serum Institut). This successful collaboration has resulted in numerous valu- able scientific results, and many more are forthcoming.

Unfortunately, a considerable shortfall in funding at Aarhus University asso- ciated with the CDC grant was discovered. In investigating the shortfalls asso- ciated with the grant, DASTI and Aarhus University became aware of two al- leged CDC funding documents as well as a letter regarding funding commit- ments allegedly written by Randolph B. Williams of CDC’s Procurement Grants Office which was used to secure advances from Aarhus University. Upon investigation by CDC, a suspicion arose that the documents are forger- ies.

DASTI conducted an internal investigation of the authenticity of the docu- ments and have filed a police report with no specific person named in the fil- ing. A police investigation is ongoing.

In March 2009, Dr. Thorsen resigned his faculty position at Aarhus Univer- sity. In the meantime, it has come to the attention of Aarhus University that Dr Thomsen has continued to act in such a manner as to create the impres- sion that he still retains a connection to Aarhus University after the termina- tion of his employment by the university. Furthermore, it has come to the at- tention of Aarhus University that Dr Poul Thorsen has held full-time positions at both Emory University and Aarhus University simultaneously. Dr Thorsens double Full-time employment was unauthorised by Aarhus University, and he engaged in this employment situation despite the express prohibition of Aar- hus University.

Conclusion: Aarhus University wishes to confirm that Dr Poul Thorsen no longer has any connection to Aarhus University, and that Aarhus University will not be able to collaborate with Poul Thorsen in the future. To the extent that other parties collaborating with Aarhus University wish to draw on Poul Thorsen’s expertise, Aarhus University will only accept such collaboration if it has the purpose of securing data or protecting the interests of participating researchers and funding agencies.

Statement from Dr. Andrew Wakefield regarding GMC hearing sanctions

Posted by seumasach on April 5, 2010

Dr Andrew Wakefield

Age of Autism

5th April, 2010

On Wednesday April 7th, General Medical Council (GMC) lawyers will demand that I and likely two other doctors involved in the MMR-autism case should be erased from the UK’s medical register, removing our license to practice medicine. Doctors’ regulators have found the three of us – Professor John Walker-Smith, Professor Simon Murch and me – guilty of undertaking research on children with autism without approval from an ethics committee.

Age of Autism

10th March, 2010

In bits and pieces, in Danish and English, from three universities in two hemispheres and the CDC in Atlanta, a picture has begun forming in the past few days that is already startling in its outline: Paul Thorsen, one of the key scientists involved in CDC-backed studies exonerating vaccines as a cause of autism, is under investigation for collecting millions of dollars in bogus “grant” money, misrepresenting himself to his employers and the world and possibly forging the documents that enabled the scam.

“… the 20th century epidemic of the so called diseases of civilization including cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes and suicide was caused by electrification not by lifestyle.  A large proportion of these diseases may therefore be preventable.”(i)
Released in the year 2000 a study of 44,788 sets of twins from Sweden, Denmark and Finland concluded that environmental factors were the initiating event in the majority of cancers.(ii)  The strongest contender and most likely culprit is artificial (man-made) electromagnetic radiation.

Is the WiFi System in the Bucks County Libraries Making People Feel Sick?

Posted by seumasach on April 3, 2010

Dear Martina Kominiarek

Executive Director, Bucks County Public Libraries, Pennsylvania, USA:

I had the opportunity to visit two of the libraries in Bucks County on my recent visit there last month in March of 2010.

Unfortunately, after entering these libraries I quickly started to feel ill with nausea, brain fog, and pressure in my brain, among a number of other very unpleasant symptoms.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) for me I am aware of what is the cause behind these ill feelings: WiFi (aka Wireless Fidelity ) systems installed in your libraries — which pump out a continuous stream of digitally modulated microwave radiation — in order to allow people to access the Internet with their computers without any wires.

The following is a quick summary of another twenty papers that have come out over the last few months related to effects of electromagnetic radiation. Some of the papers are notable papers that have been published very recently, others are papers that were published a few months ago that have not yet made it to one of the Science Updates. From this point onwards, to catch up with the large quantity of papers being published, we will be simply posting the abstract, with our comments interspersed in italicised bold where appropriate.

WHO to launch study into Fallujah birth defects

Posted by seumasach on April 1, 2010

If the spirit of the notorious Dr Repacholi still haunts the ICRP at the WHO then not much hope can be held out for this investigation. In his view, depleted uranium “is basically safe’, just as are virtually all exposures to radiation, ionising or non-ionising. There can be little doubt as to the tragic effects of DU which is already being investigated by the Iraqi authorities: it’s time now  to launch an investigation into the WHO itself.

PressTV

1st April, 2010

The World Health Organization (WHO) says it will conduct an independent study into the high level of birth defects in the Iraqi city of Fallujah.

Earth ‘entering new age of geological time’

Posted by seumasach on March 30, 2010

Population growth altering the earth’s geology in such a way as to create “a catastrophic mass extinction”. With our carbon footprints we’re pummelling out new rock formations. They’ve said it before and they’re saying it again: there are just too many of us for this delicate little organism, this Gaia, this mother earth. Let the culling begin and what better way than to use electromagnetic pollution to eliminate the bees and pollinators and then get our scientists to be absolutely baffled by it, so that before we know it it’s too late. We can get our most prestigious journals like the NY Times to post articles explaining that there’s nothing to worry about and food supplies won’t be seriously affected.

Of course, human intervention is behind the coming crisis, but are we  talking about human development in general, or the intervention of certain elites intent on preserving their monopoly of power and wealth at the expense of the rest of us? We at ITNT go for the latter interpretation. The great danger lies not just in the domination of the media by these people but in their control of the “expert”-in the co-optation of the scientists and the transformation of science into a tool of oligarchy.

We cannot highlight sufficiently the centrality of the Malthusian agenda to the Anglo-American elite: it lies at the black heart of their anti-humanist agenda and by definition puts all our lives at risk.

Telegraph

27th March, 2010

Humans have wrought such vast and unprecedented changes on the planet that we may be ushering in a new period of geological history.

Through pollution, population growth, urbanisation, travel, mining and use of fossil fuels we have altered the planet in ways which will be felt for millions of years, experts believe.

It is feared that the damage mankind has inflicted will lead to the sixth largest mass extinction in Earth’s history with thousands of plants and animals being wiped out.

The new epoch, called the Anthropocene – meaning new man – would be the first period of geological time shaped by the action of a single species.

Although the term has been in informal use among scientists for more than a decade, it is now under consideration as an official term.

A new working group of experts has now been established to gather all the evidence which would support recognising it as the successor to the current Holocene epoch.

It will consider changes human activities have brought to Earth’s biodiversity and rock structure as well as the impact of factors including pollution and mineral extraction.

It is hoped that within three years, their case will be presented to the International Union of Geological Sciences, which would decide whether the transition to a new epoch has been made.

The theory has been proposed by a group of scientists, including Paul Crutzen, the Nobel Prize-winning atmospheric chemist, in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.

They conclude: “The Anthropocene represents a new phase in the history of both humankind and of the Earth, when natural forces and human forces became intertwined, so that the fate of one determines the fate of the other. Geologically, this is a remarkable episode in the history of this planet.”

Dr Jan Zalasiewicz, of the University of Leicester, co-author of the paper, added: “It is suggested that we are in the train of producing a catastrophic mass extinction to rival the five previous great losses of species and organisms in Earth’s geological past.”
