Obama condemns Iran-for a change

Posted by seumasach on November 9, 2008

“Obviously, how we approach and deal with a country like Iran is not something that we should, you know, simply do in a knee-jerk fashion.” said Obama, reacting in knee-jerk fashion

“Obama, speaking at his first press conference since winning Tuesday’s presidential election, also said the Islamic Republic must stop supporting “terrorist organizations.”

I would suggest that it is Anglo-america which has to stop supporting terrorist organisations.

When I hear talk of a “honeymoon” for the President-elect – to last as long assix months, by some accounts – I think: “Fine. You lay off, and I’ll do the same.” But oh no, it doesn’t work that way. Obama has already started in on us, and he hasn’t even taken the oath of office yet. I’m talking about his appointments, starting withRahm Emanuel as his chief of staff.

A Mandate to End the War! Not a mandate for more wars

A Mandate to End the War
Not a mandate for more wars

Antiwar.com

Nov 5 2008
Let’s be clear about the nature and meaning of the mandate we’re going to be hearing so much about: President-elect Barack Obama has a clear mandate to end the Iraq war as expeditiously as possible. His campaign was energized by and differentiated from Hillary Clinton’s by his emphasis on correcting that horrific mistake. Hillary equivocated, refused to recant her vote for war, and coyly suggested that we might withdraw only as far as Kurdistan. Obama, on the other hand, pledged to get us out in a year, albeit adding weasel words about “residual” forces guarding our bigger-than-the-Vatican ambassadorial compound. He gained his initial momentum by grabbing on to this issue and holding on for dear life, as the Clintons self-destructed and the economy did, too. Obama arrived at this moment not only on the strength of his pledge to end the present war, but also the implicit promise to refrain from involving us in any further hostilities. Planned US Missile Defense in Eastern Europe Beset by Delays

Posted by seumasach on November 1, 2008

31st October, 2008

US General Henry Obering is “very concerned” this week as Polish lawmakers still haven’t ratified August’s deal to host a US interceptor missile base in Northern Poland. The base, ostensibly aimed at preventing Iranian missile strikes but being built well outside of the range of Iran’s missile arsenal, will not see its first interceptor missile “in the ground in Poland until 2012″ according to the General. Even then, the base’s full complement of 10 missiles won’t be online until 2013 or 2014 even if Poland ratifies the deal by year’s end.

Eastern Congo Destabilization: A Brutish empire attack on nation building

Posted by seumasach on October 31, 2008

October 31, 2008 (LPAC)–The London-based Brutish imperial financial cartel has renewed a revolt in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, as part of its overall strategy to eliminate nation-states in Africa. Goma, a provincial capital in eastern Congo, has been surrounded by anti-government rebels, who have announced that their goal is to sabotage a large cooperative Congo-China agreement, which will greatly benefit Congo, unless the deal is sabotaged. In the last few days alone, thousands of civilians fled Goma, after seeing UN peacekeepers moving out their civilian personnel as the rebels advanced. Congo rebel leader Laurent Nkunda’s troops are well-trained and well-armed. They employ hit-and-run tactics, and use the population as a shield. Nkunda has long been receiving support via Rwanda, according to reports.
