The rise of the private security man is a key element in the transition to corporate feudalism, the true aim of the Thatcher revolution. It is further confirmation that the marxist theory of the state is false- far from merely being a vehicle to promote elite interests, it is a barrier which they are determined to destroy. We are witnessing the dismantling of the legal and constitutional framework of the British state.

Private companies could take responsibility for investigating crimes, patrolling neighbourhoods and even detaining suspects under a radical privatisation plan being put forward by two of the largest police forces in the country.
