Beijing finds vulnerable ally in Berlin

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s two-day visit to China last week came amid significant advances in cooperation, despite differences on issues such as Iran.

As Chinese President Hu Jintao said during his meeting with Merkel last Friday, her visit strengthens “trust and understanding” between the two countries.

    China needs Europe since it is a main market for cheap chinese goods. So china may be playing it cool, but they need a stable European economy. So europe is a quicksand trap that will suck up Chinese trillions.

    Maybe- or a quicksand trap that sucks in hedgefunds speculating against a euro collapse that never happens
