For this to hit the mainstream media is definitely a step forward. However, the focus is far too narrow. There are other sources of EM radiation pollution apart from mobile phones. Most prominently. chordless DECT phones and wi-fi. Most homes now seem to have these and are therefore are being subjected to 24 hour a day exposure regardless of whether they live in proximity to a phone mast or not. Here is a recent study on the impact of DECT phones, a source of non-stop emissions, and an article on the impact of wi-fi.
