“This is real evidence that hyperfrequency electro

magnetic fields can have geno-toxic effects. And this

damaged DNA is always the cause of cancer. We’ve found

these damaging effects on the genes at levels well below

the safety limits, that’s why we think it is urgent to base

our safety limits on the biological effects not on the

thermic ones, they should be based on biology not on

physics.”

REPORTING ON THE EU WORKSHOP ON EMF AND HEALTH

“Gee told the audience that mobile phone manufacturers will not be able to claim immunity if, in ten years or so, it is determined that use of mobile phones cause brain cancer or other illness. They are forewarned now, and simply saying “but we were in compliance with ICNIRP safety limits” will not be sufficient reason for ignoring the growing evidence.”

Conference Report

The European Commission Workshop on EMF and Health was
held in Brussels this last week (February 11, 12th). It addressed science,
policy and public concerns regarding EMF, particularly RF and cell phone use,
and worker exposure to EMF in occupational settings in the EU countries.
