The “Paris Symposium” on Children’s Health and the Environment”, UNESCO, Paris, 12-13 April 2011, is being organized by ARTAC (Association for Research and Treatments against Cancer – http://www.artac.info) in partnership with the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (www.isde.org) and the Health and Environment Alliance (www.env-health.org). Topics to be discussed include cancer and the environment with moderators Ana Soto and Luc Montagnier, childhood at risk (health risks of electromagnetic fields, chemical exposures, endocrine disruption), the environmental origin of today’s public plague (pesticides, obesity and type 2 diabetes, asthma, allergies, mercury toxicity, GMOs). The symposium will be followed by a 3-day intesive course in environmental medicine which will include investigation, practice and ethics and law. This is a fairly new discipline and there are many medical faculties who have not heard of it. In the forefront of establishing departments and delivering courses in this discipline are Professor Belpomme, President of ARTAC and Dr. Philip Landigran, Director, Children’s Environmental Health Center, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. One would hope that such associations and schools would share their research and expertise, but this is not always the case.

Is the IEEE a criminal organization?

Posted by seumasach on March 2, 2011

(By 2010, IEEE) (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, or IEEE )had over 395,000 members in 160 countries. Through its worldwide network of geographical units, publications, web services, and conferences, IEEE remains the world’s largest technical professional association).

Back in 1983, before cell phones, before cordless phones, before Wi Fi, before antennas were everywhere and before our environment became polluted with microwave radiation and before many ‘modern diseases’ existed, a large book was published by the IEEE press.  The book is 591 pages long and the title is “Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation”, Edited by John M. Osepchuk.  The book goes into great detail and describes scientific research which showed many serious biological effects caused by exposure to electro magnetic radiation.

Why our urban trees are dying

Posted by seumasach on March 2, 2011

Andrew Goldsworthy

MCS-America

February, 2011

Congratulations to Niek van het Wout  and the citizens and officials at Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands for pointing the finger at cell phone and WiFi radiation as being a major cause of deformations and early death in urban trees. Niek was just a concerned citizen who gathered photographic evidence from all over Europe and conducted simple experiments using an ordinary multimeter to collect information on the effects of the radiation on the electrophysiology of local trees. His results were sufficient to convince both myself and Andre van Lammeren of Wageningen University of the need for further investigation using Faraday cages with WiFi access points as the source of radiation. The work is still ongoing but the initial results show definite detrimental effects of WiFi radiation on the physiology of the trees under test. Their work was presented at a Symposium on Feb 18th, in which I also gave a lecture on the likely biochemical mechanisms underlying microwave damage in general and those on trees in particular.

Cell phone radiation changes cell metabolism

Posted by seumasach on February 23, 2011

This may be pertinent to the issue of cell phone addiction already raised by Alfonso Balmori

Microwave News

22nd February, 2011

A well-regarded and influential team of researchers from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) is on the brink of resolving a long-standing dispute with enormous implications for public health. In a paper due out tomorrow, Nora Volkow and coworkers are reporting that cell phone radiation can affect the normal functioning of the human brain.

Smart meters violate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) safety limits

Posted by seumasach on February 23, 2011

American Chronicle

8th February, 2011

Sage Associates, Environmental Consultants, have written a very important release in regard to “Smart” Meters likely to violate Federal safety limits, and about the adverse health effects due to radiofrequency (RF) radiation levels, emitted by “smart” meters. I am urging everyone to read this information very carefully:

Its official, cell phone radiation is deadly

Posted by seumasach on February 19, 2011

One India

3rd February, 2011

New Delhi, Feb 3: There have been numerous rhetoric doing the rounds on the ill-effects of mobile radiation for a while. The results are out and they are not pleasing at all. It has been found that radiation from mobile towers pose grave health risks including memory loss, lack of concentration and digestive disturbances. The fact was revealed by an Inter-ministerial committee formed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to study the hazards posed by mobile phones.

Never mind the bees: what about us!

Posted by seumasach on February 17, 2011

Interestingly, the Union ministry of environment and forests has constituted a committee to assess environmental impact of mushrooming mobile towers on the population of birds and bees but have not done anything to that end for human beings.

Mobile tower radiations: the new kid on the pollution block

The Statesman

17th February, 2011

The West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) receives several complaints against radiations from mobile network towers, but it is unable to act on them as it has not been delegated any power to deal with electro-pollution.

Save the Great British bee!

Posted by seumasach on February 15, 2011

It is also believed the chemicals in pesticides interfere with the bees’ personal electrical and chemical signals, causing problems for their navigation systems.

What else is a rather more obvious candidate for interfering with their navigation systems?

See ITNT archive: disappearing bees

Daily Mail

12th February, 2011

Just four years. That’s how long Albert Einstein reportedly said the human race would last in a world without bees. For the master of relativity, the equation was relatively simple: no more bees = no more people. And while there is debate over whether the great physicist made the claim, no one disputes that we would be in serious trouble were bees to disappear.

Electromagnetic radiation (EMR) clashes with honey bees

Posted by seumasach on February 11, 2011

Sainudeen Sahib. S.

International Journal of Environmental Sciences

2010

Abstract

Apiculture has developed in to an important industry in India as honey and beewax have

become common products. Recently a sharp decline in population of hone y bees has been

observed in Kerala. Although the bees are susceptible to diseases and attacked by natural

enemies like wasps, ants and wax moth,  constant vigilance on the part of the bee keepers can

over come these adverse conditions. The present plunge in population (< 0.01) was not due to

these reasons. It was caused by man due to unscientific proliferat ion of towers and mobile

phones.
