There has been a ridiculous notion amongst numerous left groups and those opposed to the Syrian government, that the Israeli regime does not want to see Assad fall. As self-professed “anti-zionists”, many in these groups are content to delude themselves into believing that both their enemies are on the same side. In the case of several socialist groups, they believe that this forcing of the Syrian crisis into their blanket “anti-authoritarian” narrative (regardless of the state in which they are applying that narrative to) enables them to maintain a façade of anti-imperialism.

India joins the West on Syrian crisis

Russia and China have vetoed the resolution on Syria sponsored by the United States, France, Germany and Portugal at the United Nations Security Council. This is not surprising, as Moscow and Beijing have been consistent in their opposition to any form of UNSC mandate being deliberately misused or misinterpreted by the Western powers to justify an eventual military intervention in Syria — as had happened over Libya an year ago.

NATO PsyOp against Syria imminent

Posted by seumasach on July 21, 2012

- On Friday, July 20, 2012, around 19:00, signals began to be sent to imbed new channels onto Arabsat and Nilesat. The signals mimic those of Syrian television, duplicating both the graphics and logos. For now, the programs present patriotic clips.

According to experts, the signals are being sent from Australia, probably from a U.S. National Security Agency base.

The genuine Syrian television signals were interrupted yesterday by Arabsat and Nilesat. Their websites were hacked and are inaccessible.

- According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, quoted byRia Novosti [1], a film production company has built sets reproducing Syrian cities in Al-Zubayr (Qatar). False news reports are shot to eventually feed into the bogus TV channels that are planted on Arabsat and Nilesat.

- A large security perimeter has been installed around the studios of Syrian state television. Umayyad Square is no longer accessible and traffic has been diverted through the tunnel instead. In the afternoon, an explosion occurred in the tunnel blocking it. The Syrian authorities have chosen to completely cut off the main intersection rather than risk reopening traffic near the main entrance to the studios.

On June 27, the Free Syrian Army destroyed the studios of the privately owned Al-Akbariya.

- This afternoon (July 20), a Syrian television presenter, Mohammed Saeed (pictured), was abducted in Damascus by the FSA.

The battle of Damascus has begun

Thierry Meyssan

Voltairenet

20th July, 2012

Western and Gulf powers have launched the largest secret war operation since the Contra war in Nicaragua. The Battle of Damascus is not intended to topple President Bashar al-Assad, but to fracture the Syrian Army to better ensure the domination of Israel and the U.S. over the Middle East. While the city is bracing for a new assault by foreign mercenaries, Thierry Meyssan takes stock of the situation.

Three Ways of Thought in Ancient China by Arthur Waley

The reviewer’s task could be manifold. One aspect could be the attraction of the reader’s attention to that part of the book that he might gloss over without understanding its centrality, or at least importance, for the narrative. And this would be the case withThree Ways of Thought in Ancient China on several ancient classical Chinese philosophers: Chuang Tzu and Mencius and those who in the book are called “the realists”.

Germany wishes Syrian people to live in peace

Posted by seumasach on July 20, 2012

Mired in stupidity and hypocrisy the European leadership is hopelessly adrift. Here their double-think extends to the idea that conflict resolution involves sanctions against one side , the Syrian government, with a view to achieving the aims of the other, in this case Western backed terrorists. By thus undermining the Annan Peace Plan they intend to bring peace, presumably in the Orwellian sense of the term. Note that rights are conceded to “the Syrian people”, presumably meaning their individual human rights, but not  the right of Syrian national self-determination which is being trampled underfoot by the West.

Anadolu Agency

20th July, 2012

AKSARAY (AA) – July 20, 2012 – Germany’s ambassador in Turkish capital of Ankara has said that Germany wished that Syrian people would live in peace in accordance with their own rights.
