Posted by seumasach on August 13, 2012

Irish Times

13th August, 2012

A NUN who has been superior at a Syrian monastery for the past 18 years has warned that media coverage of ongoing violence in that country has been “partial and untrue”. It is “a fake”, Mother Agnes Mariam said, which “hides atrocities committed in the name of liberty and democracy”.

Asia Times

14th August, 2012

There has recently been a small stir in the American media, as media organizations from the New York Times to the Wall Street Journal to the Associated Press have finally gotten around to acknowledging a “presence” of al-Qaeda and like-minded jihadist groups among the Syrian rebel forces seeking to topple the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Syrian forces advance steadily in Aleppo

Posted by seumasach on August 11, 2012

“Backed solidly by Iran, the Lebanese Hizbollah as well as Russia and China, the Syrian government’s grip on power appears strong — a situation that is causing the regime’s foes to revisit their tactics.”

The Hindu

11th August, 2012

Syrian forces have foiled an attack by opposition fighters on Aleppo airport and tightened their grip on the city on Idlib as part of an overall offensive that is triggering a string of meetings among countries that wish to bring down the government of President Bashar Al Assad.

Russia asks UNSC to deal with Bahrain’s revolution

Posted by seumasach on August 11, 2012

Bahrain Freedom Movement
10th August 2012

In an unprecedented development, Russian has asked the UN Security Council to debate the case of Bahrain where a popular revolution has been taking place for the past 18 months. This reflects the new direction of Russian policies in the Middle East following two decades of downward opportunities following the fragmentation of the former Soviet Union. Earlier, the Chinese representative at UNSC had said that its double standards in dealing with the Arab Spring revolutions had damaged its impartiality. This internalisation of the Bahraini revolution will be a blow to the Alkhalifa and Al Saud policies as they attempt to destroy the Bahraini revolution with shear state terrorism. The American and British military and security support of the despotic rulers of Bahrain is causing unease on the international scene especially after the recent flare up of the Syrian situation.

The FSA war against freedom of worship

Posted by seumasach on August 11, 2012

Voltairenet

10th August, 2012

The Western press describes the “Syrian Army free” as a conservative Sunni organization, as opposed to Al-Qaeda (and its local branch, the Support Front for the People of the Levant) painted to be the only extremist one of the two.

This portrayal is misleading, firstly because some leaders of the “Free Syrian Army” have been longstanding Al-Qaeda officials. It is therefore not possible to completely distinguish the two structures from each other. Then, the FSA falls under the spiritual authority of Sheikh Adnan al-Arour, whose program is explicitly takfirist, that is to say he intends to cleanse the Muslim community and expel or kill all non-Muslims.

In arming and funding the Takfir, NATO and the GCC hope to provoke a religious war that will enable the colonial powers to divide the Middle East and gain a better control over it. This political project, known as “remodeling of the Broader Middle East”, crystallises in Syria since the Syrian civilization embodies and promotes a diametrically opposite project: secular institutions guaranteeing freedom of worship and encouraging cooperation between religions.

Concerned at radiation, Ministry asks DoT not to allow overlapping mobile towers

11th August, 2012

Pitching in on the current debate on the possible danger of cellphone radiation, the Environment Ministry says a review of available scientific information by its panel of experts shows that “electromagnetic radiations interfere with the biological systems.” Accordingly, it has asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) not to allow new mobile towers to be constructed within a one-kilometre radius of the existing towers.

Syrie : Les forces spéciales françaises sont-elles entrées en Syrie ?

Posted by seumasach on August 11, 2012

Allain Jules

11th August, 2012

Alepo ultrajada! Alepo rota! Alepo martirizada! PERO ALEPO LIBERADA!!!!

Posted by seumasach on August 11, 2012

Resistencia Libia

10th August, 2012

Execution: Half naked, unarmed and trembling with fear, a group of captured pro-Assad soldiers are made to kneel to face a wall in Syria's war-torn Aleppo
