L’Argentine a été invitée à la dernière réunion des BRICS à Fortaleza, du 14 au 16 juillet 2014. A cette occasion, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Présidente de l’Argentine, n’a pas évoqué, sauf à mots couverts, le défaut de paiement qui menaçait son pays. L’occasion aurait cependant été bonne pour elle de dénoncer le jeu des spéculateurs américains (notamment les fameux fonds vautours), soutenus par la législation des États-Unis, qui s’acharnent sur un pays fragile.
