World Health Organisation Admits No Deadly Mutation of H1N1 Swine Flu

Posted by seumasach on October 1, 2009

The World Health Organization, the UN agency (ir-) responsible for declaring a Phase 6 “PANDEMIC” global alert over what it calls H1N1 Influenza A or Swine Flu, whose chief Dr Margaret Chan has repeatedly warned that while Swine Flu to date had been rather mild, that the emergency declaration was necessary because it “could mutate” aggressively into a deadly pandemic killing millions, now admits well into the flu season in the Northern Hemisphere that H1N1 has apparently not mutated.

Margaret Chan, the head of the World Health Organization, at a meeting with health officials in her native Hong Kong has just stated that the swine flu virus has not yet mutated into a more deadly strain. WHO Director of the Initiative for Vaccine Research, Dr Marie-Paule Kieny reinforced that statement in a press conference September 24 in Geneva when she stated, “we are lucky that the pandemic is moderate in severity that most people experience a mild illness and recover spontaneously.”  That means recovery with no vaccination, no Tamiflu or other dangerous ”antiviral” drugs. Just with letting nature take its course.

Last summer, when the WHO decided to declare a global “pandemic emergency” over what it called the H1N1 Influenza A global spread, it also announced in a notice buried among its press releases that most countries had stopped testing ill populations for H1N1, and that WHO therefore simply arbitrarily “assumed” all patients with a stated set of symptoms were automatically H1N1 victims. So the H1N1 pandemic case counts, to quote the WHO “no longer reflect actual disease activity.”

Vaccines’ Dark Inferno-What is not on insert labels?

Posted by seumasach on October 1, 2009

Global Research

1st October, 2009

The vast majority of scientists, physicians, nurses and public health educators’ trust that the ingredients in a vaccine have been individually and synergistically proven safe and effective. The public believes these vaccines, aside from their specified virus(es), are sterile solutions, free from undesirable contaminants not listed on the manufacturer’s package inserts.  When the pediatrician injects a vaccine into the muscle of a child, the public has unquestioning faith that this is the case.  In other words, we want to believe that vaccines have been generated under perfect conditions for the safety of children and ourselves.

H1N: Scottish Health Secretary Sturgeon Welcomes Agreement with GPs to Provide Vaccination

Posted by seumasach on October 1, 2009

It appears that the  H1N1 swine flu vaccine contains thimerosal, a mercury based preservative. Nicola Sturgeon put the following motion before the Scottish Parliamnet in 2003:

That the Parliament notes with concern that thirteen vaccines currently available in the United Kingdom, including four that are administered to children, contain thimerosal, a compound 50% comprised of ethyl mercury and already banned in the United States of America; further notes the fears of a link between thimerosal and conditions such as autism and Alzheimer’s disease, and considers that the Scottish Executive should take steps to eradicate thimerosal from vaccines available in Scotland and, in the meantime, inform the public about the availability of vaccines that do not contain thimerosal.

She is about to attempt to have 1.4 million Scots injected with it

Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon has welcomed the agreement that the H1N1 vaccination programme for priority groups will be administered by GPs, following successful negotiations between the Departments of Health, General Practitioners Committee and NHS employers.

The new deal will mean that GPs will receive £5.25 per dose of vaccine given, allowing GPs to contact patients, administer the vaccine and, if necessary, take on extra staff.

While it is currently expected that patients will receive two doses of the vaccine, this advice may change once clinical trials have been completed.

A total of 1.3 million people are in the Scottish priority groups for the first stage of the vaccination programme.

It is expected the vaccination programme will begin next month, subject to the vaccine being licensed by the European Medicines Agency (EMEA).

Further details of the programme will be announced in the coming weeks.

Ms Sturgeon said:

“I am pleased a successful outcome has been reached. This will allow us to press on with implementing our vaccination plans. Vaccination is the best defence we have against the H1N1 virus.

“The cost represents a good deal for both sides, offering a substantial saving on the normal rate for the seasonal flu vaccination, whilst still covering GP practices’ additional costs in administering the vaccine.

“Scotland will be one of the first countries in the world to receive the vaccine supply thanks to contracts put in place before this outbreak.

“We are procuring enough vaccine supply for 100 per cent of the population.

“I strongly urge people in the at risk groups and frontline health and social care workers to have the vaccine.

“People should be reassured that the NHS in Scotland and its partner agencies are continuing to do everything they can to minimise the impact of this outbreak.

“Everyone can play a part in minimising the spread of flu-like illness by washing their hands and catching coughs and sneezes in a tissue.”

Dr Dean Marshall, chairman of the BMA’s Scottish General Practitioners Committee, said:

“I am pleased that we have reached agreement on the delivery of the vaccination to the at risk population. General practice is an efficient and adaptable model that reaches into every community in Scotland and is best placed to deliver the vaccination. GPs are used to delivering large scale vaccination programmes that target patients at highest risk and this agreement means that GPs and their teams will have the resources they need to take on the additional workload and run the vaccination programme smoothly and efficiently.”

Dr Ken Lawton, Chair of the Royal College of GPs Scotland:

“I am delighted that agreement has been reached between the GPC and Departments of Health on this vital public health matter. I look forward to proceeding towards the vaccination roll-out as soon as possible. We will continue to work closely with the BMA and the Scottish Government on this and all other issues concerning pandemic flu.”

The vaccination programme is expected to begin in the autumn, subject to the vaccine being licensed by the European Medicines Agency. The agency has strict processes in place for licensing pandemic vaccines. The vaccine will not be used until it is licensed. Manufacturers anticipate that licenses may be granted in October. Vaccination will commence as soon as possible once licences are granted.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation reviewed the evidence and advised the Department of Health on the crucial risk groups to be offered vaccination in order to reduce the rate or possibility of serious illness.

This advice was also scrutinised and endorsed by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE).

Decisions on vaccinating the wider healthy population will depend on the evolution of the pandemic as well as new and emerging clinical data on the use of the vaccine. This will be kept under close review.

The Department of Health (DH) has placed orders for sufficient H1N1 swine flu vaccine for the UK population. The orders are with GSK and with Baxter.

The following groups will be prioritised in this order:

* People aged over six months and under 65 years in current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at-risk groups.
* All pregnant women, subject to licensing conditions on trimesters
* Household contacts of people with compromised immune systems e.g. people in regular close contact with patients on treatment for cancer
* People aged 65 and over in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at-risk groups. This does not include otherwise healthy over 65s, since they appear to have some natural immunity to the virus

The Porto Alegre Resolution

We, the undersigned scientists, were honored to participate in a workshop organized by the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul and sponsored by the Brazilian Health Ministry, the International Commission for Electromagnetic Safety, the Porto Alegre Environmental Council (COMAM/PA), the Rio Grande do Sul Center for Health Vigilance (CEVS/RS) and others, entitled, “International Workshop on Non-Ionizing Radiation, Health and Environment” which took place on May 18 and 19, 2009, in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

This resolution follows several international resolutions agreed to by concerned scientists and medical doctors over the past decade, including resolutions developed by the International Commission for Electromagnetic Safety [1], based on evidence and consideration on documents such as the BioInitiative Report [2] and a special issue of the journal Pathophysiology on electrical and magnetic fields, published in August 2009 [3].

We agreed that the protection of health, well-being and the environment requires immediate adoption of the Precautionary Principle, which states, “when there are indications of possible adverse effects, though they remain uncertain, the risks from doing nothing may be far greater than the risks of taking action to control these exposures. The Precautionary Principle shifts the burden of proof from those suspecting a risk to those who discount it, until new scientific discoveries are recognized as the only criterion for the establishment or modification of non-ionizing radiation exposure standards;

We recognize that, in Brazil as well as all over the world, where there has been an unprecedented explosion in the availability and use of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields for electrical and wireless communications technologies (mobile and cordless phones, WiFi and WIMAX networks, RFID, etc,), as well as major electrical grid and wireless broadband infrastructure changes, this assessment should inform risk management to take proper steps to protect the public from long-term, low-level exposure to extremely-low frequency as well as radiofrequency electromagnetic fields that have substantially increased in the ambient environment in recent years.

We are concerned about the body of evidence that indicates that exposure to electromagnetic fields interferes with basic human biology and may increase the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. The exposure levels at which these effects have been observed are many times lower than the standards promulgated by the International Commission for Non-Ionizing radiation Protection (ICNIRP) [4] and the IEEE’s International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety (ICES) [5]. These standards are obsolete and were derived from biological effects of short-term high intensity exposures that cause health effects by temperature elevation and nerve excitation discovered decades ago. Recent research indicates that electromagnetic fields could cause detrimental health effects even at very low levels of exposure. The ICNIRP and IEEE/ICES standards are being supported and promoted by interested parties to avoid precautionary technical planning, precautionary laws, and precautionary advice to the public.

We are deeply concerned that current uses of non-ionizing radiation for mobile phones, wireless computers and other technologies place at risk the health of children and teens, pregnant women, seniors and others who are most vulnerable due to age or disability, including a health condition known as electromagnetic hypersensitivity. We strongly recommend these precautionary practices:

1.      Children under the age of 16 should not use mobile phones and cordless phones, except for emergency calls;

2.      The licensing and/or use of Wi-Fi, WIMAX, or any other forms of wireless communications technology, indoors or outdoor, shall preferably not include  siting or signal transmission in residences, schools, day-care centers, senior centers, hospitals or any other buildings where people spend considerable time;

3.      The licensing for siting and installation of infrastructure related to electrical power and wireless broadband telecommunications, particularly, cellular telephony, Wi-Fi and WIMAX, should only be approved after open public hearings are held and approval granted with full consideration given to the need to apply the Precautionary Principle. Sensitive areas should be avoided to protect vulnerable populations;

4.      Mankind shall be encouraged to continue to discover new means of harnessing non-ionizing electromagnetic energy, aiming at bringing benefits to society, through definition of new standards of human exposure, which are based on the biological realities of nature and not solely on the consideration of economic and technological needs.

We, therefore, urge all nations to join Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Russia China, the U.S. (for the FCC standard for partial exposure of the head) and other countries and regions that have chosen to adopt a more precautionary strategy, aiming to assure more safety to the public while maintaining good service quality.

We make an urgent call to all nations to convene a panel of experts, selected from candidates recommended by civil society groups (not only those preferred by the affected industries) to discuss precautionary technology, laws and advice in order to develop policies that reconcile public health concerns with further development of wireless communications technology such as mobile phones as well as electric power transmission and distribution systems.

Global Warming or Global Freezing: is the ice really melting?

Posted by seumasach on September 24, 2009

F.William Engdahl

Global Research

24th September, 2009

President Obama just made a melodramatic appeal at the United Nations for global measures to dramatically curb what he called “the climate threat,” current euphemism for what is more popularly known as Global Warming, the theory that man-made CO2 emissions from cars, coal plants and other man-made sources are causing the earth to warm to the point the polar icecaps are irreversibly melting and threatening to flood a quarter or more of the earth’s surface. There’s only one thing wrong with Mr. Obama’s dramatic scenario: it is scientifically utterly wrong. Since 2007 the polar icecaps have been growing not melting and the earth has been cooling, not warming.
