U.N. official urges Iran to sway Syria government on peace talks

Posted by seumasach on August 27, 2013

Confusion now reins in these columns. I had assumed that the point of going to all the trouble of framing Assad with a false-flag event was to launch a war to overthrow him Then Obama announces a few cruise missile attacks, Cameron declares that he doesn’t seek regime change and now the bombing seems to be being treated as part of the peace process.

Orlando Sentinel

27th August, 2013

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – A top U.N. official visiting Iran has urged it to use its influence to persuade the Syrian government to attend planned peace talks with opposition groups in Geneva, the United Nations said on Tuesday.

Britain drafts military plans for Syria, recalls parliament

Posted by seumasach on August 27, 2013

General David Richards, the former Chief of Britain’s Defence Staff, said “pin-prick” cruise missile strikes could aggravate rather than resolve the Syrian conflict.

“I think the scale of involvement to make a decisive difference in Syria would be so huge that it is something that we, at the moment, cannot sensibly contemplate,” he told The Sun newspaper.

This whole scenario looks devoid of sense. A few cruise missiles as the White House seems to favour would certainly make no difference. Cameron’s Jihadi irregulars on the ground in Syria will be expecting a bit more than that. Is Britain leading this venture? In which case where? Is someone being set-up here?

LONDON (Reuters) – Prime Minister David Cameron recalled parliament to debate Britain’s response to a suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria, after his spokesman said plans were being drawn up for possible military action.

Kerry opens prospect of war without end

Just as the Kennedy presidency gave us a glimpse even though a fleeting one of a US-Russian alliance and a potential for world peace so had the Obama presidency. In both cases the dark forces of oligarchy destroyed the dream. In both cases we can claim after the event that it was all merely an illusion: but this doesn’t change the fact that only in such cooperation between the worlds two greatest powers can any hope be found. In both cases, failure therefore had the most profound and tragic consequences.

Syria crisis: US Kerry signals military intent

Posted by seumasach on August 27, 2013

Detente with Russia is now over, Kerry’s speech having focused pointedly at their “denial” over the lie that Assad used chemical weapons. This lie will now form the basis of the next phase of war without end whereby the Anglo-American oligarchy save themselves and destroy humanity.

The madness before the fall

Cailean Bochanan

25th August, 2013

William Hague seems to be quite sure that the Syrian government is responsible for the chemical weapons attack last week. Presumably, he arrived at this conclusion through a process of elimination: it couldn’t possibly have been carried out by Al Qaida, alleged perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks. Oh no! They couldn’t have done a thing like that!

Did the West Gas Thousands to Rescue Failed Syrian War?

Tony Cartalucci

Activist Post

As far back as 2007, it was a documented fact that the West, including the United States and its allies Saudi Arabia and Israel, conspired to use terrorists drawn from the ranks of the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda in an attempt to overthrow the governments of Iran and Syria.

Chemical attack: ‘rough work’ of Syrian opposition

Posted by seumasach on August 24, 2013

Voice of Russia

22nd August, 2013

Russia has declared that according to its information, chemical weapons in the suburbs of Damascus had been used (on August 21) by opposition militants, and not the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. The accusations in the address of the government troops are based on unverified information. And the aggressive campaign in regional and Western media only confirms that this refers to a “prearranged provocation”. This came as a special statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry. It is not for the first time that such provocations occur.
