In a recent column, “Can The World Survive Washington’s Hubris,” I promised to examine whether the US economy will collapse before Washington in its pursuit of world hegemony brings us into military confrontation with Russia and China. This is likely to be an ongoing subject on this site, so this column will not be the final word.

Why Turkey won’t go to war with Syria

Posted by seumasach on July 9, 2012

Voltairenet

8th July, 2012

The tension and likelihood of a world war because of the conflict in Syria is currently on the cards because certain countries are behaving like arsonists, especially Turkey, in continuing to offer a logistical base for mercenaries from “liberated” Libya. Saudi Arabia’s ruling House of Saud will keep providing the money to buy them weapons. As for Washington, London and Paris, they will continue to calibrate their tactics in the protracted anticipation of a NATO attack against Damascus.

Syrie : François Hollande réussit l’exploit de ressusciter un mort à Paris [vidéos].

Posted by seumasach on July 7, 2012

Our man in the Elysee! William Hague will be overjoyed to find in Francois Hollande continuity with the Atlanticist foreign policy of Sarkozy. He can take heart  that without an independent foreign policy Euroland is going nowhere and London and Washington can perpetually replay a cold war against Russia and China.

6th July, 2012

The US’ increasingly unhinged rhetoric reached a new level of absurdity this week as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called on Western nations and their Arab proxies to “make it clear that Russia and China will pay a price because they are holding up progress” in regards to the US’ premeditated campaign of terrorism and violent regime change in Syria.

Russia calls ‘Friends of Syria’ group ‘immoral’

Posted by seumasach on July 7, 2012

The “Friends of Syria” conference combines the hubris, imbecility and impotence of the West unable to come to terms with the rise of Russia, China and the Global South. The approach of Francois Hollande is particularly stupid given that he allegedly aims to forge a Euro-Brics alliance: despite being subject to a withering assault by Anglo-American finance Europe remains locked in to the hegemonic Anglo-American agenda. All Hollande has to do is to offer coherent support for the Annan Plan: does he really still have to play to the gallery of the senile French left?

Trend

7th July, 2012

Meetings being organized by the Friends of Syria group are one-sided and immoral, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich has said, RIA Novostireported.

Foreign Secretary to attend Friends of Syria meeting

Posted by seumasach on July 6, 2012

We must draw some encouragement from the descent of the West’s Syria strategy into incoherence and imbecility. Here Hague claims support for the Annan plan which seeks a negotiated settlement between all parties whilst pledging further support to one of the parties to the conflict, the so-called opposition.

FCO

5th July, 2012

On 6 July more than one hundred countries are expected to meet in Paris for the third Friends of Syria meeting in support of Joint Envoy Kofi Annan’s efforts to try to end the violence and make progress on a peaceful political transition in Syria.
