NATO have been bombing Libya relentlessly for six months and have now announced a 90 day extension to their bombing campaign. On whose authority you may ask? NATO don’t ask for authority, they bomb their way to it. Anyway, having declared victory, they have pledged to continue the war. If you are happy with the logic of that, you won’t be interested in joining our anti-NATO protest. If NATO step up the bombiing when they have won, what will they do when they’re losing. The truth, of course, is that they haven’t won and must continue the campaign until all resistance to the puppet government, which they haven’t yet been able to install, is crushed. That is probably impossible since the Libyan people and the Libyan army are maintaining fierce resistance under the leadership of the dictator they are supposed to hate so much. At this moment, there is no functioning government in Libya and there isn’t likely to be until NATO and its “rebel’ allies enter into negotiations with Gaddafi or are definitively chased out of Libya.
Even though the UN mandate to NATO to “protect Libyan civilians” has run out, or is about to run out, the bombing goes on. NATO’s job is to bomb and as long as it exists there will be bombing. There can be no peace in the world as long as this nefarious organisation exists. Le CNT a avoué, tout à l’heure, qu’il sera très difficile de « libérer » les villes de Syrte et de Bani Walid. C’est quand même amusant. Libérer ? Oui, la Libye est occupée, par ceux qui veulent la détruire, qui la détruisent avec leurs bombardements. Ils ne sont pas à Syrte, ni à Bani Walid, ceux qui détruisent leur pays. C’est ce qu’on nomme dans le jargon des allainjulesnautes, du n’importequoitisme. Donc, sur le plan militaire, malgré tous les moyens déployés et l’appui des tueurs de l’OTAN, rien. Sur le plan politique, aussi, l’incapacité du CNT de former un Gouvernement se fait jour.
Sept mois de bombardements par l’OTAN. Contre des civils, un carnage, de la rapine, des mensonges, de la tromperie, de la diversion et de la désinformation perpétuelle n’ont pas pu arriver à faire plier un peuple de 6 millions d’habitants et qui vient de surcroit de commencer sa résistance ! Quelle victoire a bien remporté l’OTAN ? L’OTAN – dont-il ne reste en Libye que la France de Sarkozy et la Grande-Bretagne de Cameron – connait Pyrrhus !
Jusqu’à quand les gens vont-ils rester silencieux face à la dialectique morbide et mortifère de l’OTAN sur sa « protection des civils » ? Elle nous rabâche ce mensonge depuis 7 mois en Libye alors qu’elle est entrain de perpétrer, sous nos yeux, un véritable génocide en Grande Jamahariya. Quel cynisme, quel mensonge face à la souffrance ? De quelle libération parle-t-on sur des champs de ruines ? Si ces gens veulent gouverner la Libye, y instaurer la démocratie n’est que voltige mensongère.
The assault on Libya marks a new imperialist offensive led by NATO which threatens grave consequences for humanity if unchecked. A resurgent, French, British and even Turkish imperialism provide a distinctly 19th century air to proceedings. In contrast to 2003 and the Iraq War there has been no opposition worth talking about from the left who have now rallied around the left-liberal paradigm as being worthy of universal enforcement. The left are onboard for the new imperialism and they provide its ideological backbone. To paraphrase one of their old songs ” the Internationale unites the white race’.
After what recently happened in Libya, one is apt to wonder what democracy really stands for. If democracy is the keyword used to justify the destruction of human lives and property, then God help us all!
