Though seemingly spontaneous, it is likely that the US Secretary of State John Kerry knew that several sentences he said during the hearing of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs on February 24, 2015 could create a storm of media controversy across the Balkan region. Italian prime minister ends Vladimir Putin’s international isolation

The Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes that the U.S. and the EU no longer have the same viewpoint regarding the future of sanctions against Russia. High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini has doubted the effect of sanctions and said that the EU should overcome its Cold War approaches in relation to Russia. At the same time, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier remarked that the search for a political solution in eastern Ukraine will last decades, but the West is not obliged to be in conflict with Russia all this time.

It is an instrument or a weapon designed to be used in information warfare. It has an advantage – in many cases it is extremely hard to define who exactly used it. But there was no problem of this kind when Anonymous published a 1993 photo report of Angela Merkel visiting the youth club Elbterrassen and meeting with a bunch of skinhead and other friends, one of whom makes a Nazi salute [1].

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel has arrived in Washington for talks regarding a peace plan for Ukraine. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin is heading for Cairo on a two-day visit, signifying a major thrust in Moscow’s “return” to the Middle East. The two are apparently unrelated events and yet they overlap in a curious way.
