The US police have arrested at least seven more people in New York near Wall Street, attacking the protesters at the influence of corporations on American politics.
Hundreds of protestors have gathered in lower Manhattan area since September 17, vigorously voicing opposition to political connections between the firms and the US lawmakers, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.
They have challenged the US President Barack Obama’s management of the financial sector, demanding him to enforce an end to what they denounce as corruption and the corporate greed.
Protest organizers have, meanwhile, accused police of brutality and posted homemade videos of the arrests on the internet.
The outraged public is trying to set up a camp similar to the one arranged by the Egyptian protesters in the capital, Cairo’s Change Square back in January.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has blocked many of the streets in the area in order to foil the protestors’ plans.
