I’m in Ireland this week and am not yet sure how close I’ll be to the internet. So to tide you over just in case here is a fascinating essay from Ishmael2009 (not his real name) on Sir Crispin Tickell is one of the chief architects of Man Made Global Warming’s towering cathedral of half truths, exaggeration, hysteria and Neo-Malthusian lunacy. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, the mighty Ishmael2009…..

HPV vaccine controversy: India’s response puts the world to shame

Posted by seumasach on December 31, 2010

India has recognised the role of EM radiation from the mobile network in causing the disappearance of bees and other pollinators and now has intervened against toxic vaccinations. Are they “conspiracy theorists” or is the West engaged in a conspiracy against its own peoples and environment?

Examiner

13th April, 2010

Last week, government officials in India called an immediate halt to any further HPV vaccinations until they complete an extensive investigation into allegations of unethical conduct by those involved in a ‘demonstration project’ aimed at vaccinating 32,000 girls, age 10-14, from Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.

Incipient fascist state: America has gone away

29th December, 2010

Anyone who doesn’t believe that the US is an incipient fascist state needs only to consult the latest assault on civil liberty by Fox News (sic). Instead of informing citizens, Fox News (sic) informs on citizens. Jason Ditz reports (antiwar.com Dec. 28) that Fox News (sic) “no longer content to simply shill for a growing police state,” turned in a grandmother to the Department of Homeland Security for making “anti-American comments.”

US still acts like an ’empire’ with Latin America, says Brazil’s President Lula

Posted by seumasach on December 29, 2010

Telegraph

29th December, 2010

President Lula, who will be replaced by Dilma Rousseff on New Year’s Day after eight years in power, was once hailed by President Obama as “the most popular politician on earth”.

But speaking just days before he steps down, President Lula indicated that he has been frustrated by the lack of change in relations with the US since President Obama was elected.

“I would like the relationship of the United States with Latin America to be different to what it is today,” he told reporters in Brasilia, his country’s capital.

“In the United States they should understand the importance of Latin America. The Americans don’t have an optimistic vision of Latin America. They have always related as an empire to poor countries. This vision needs to change.”

He said he hoped that President Obama will visit Brazil in 2011 but added: “The truth is that nothing has changed in the United States’ vision for Latin America. I view that with sadness.”

The relationship between President Obama and President Lula was once seen as likely to usher in closer relations between the United States and Brazil.

It was at the G20 summit in London in April 2009 that President Obama greeted his Brazilian counterpart with the words “love this guy” before declaring him the most popular politician on the planet.

But Brazil later tested the patience of the US by attempting to broker a nuclear fuel swap deal between Iran and Turkey as President Lula cultivated closer links with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Earlier this month Brazil angered Israel by recognising Palestinian statehood and President Lula insisted that there would not be peace in the Middle East while the US continued to lead negotiations.

President Lula also used his latest media comments to dampen down speculation that he could seek to run for president again in 2014 or later.

He had refused to rule out the possibility when asked last week, threatening to cause embarrassment for Ms Rousseff, of the Workers’ Party he helped to found.

But asked again about the possibility, he said: “It is just and rightful that whoever is in power and is making a good government continues governing. Dilma will be my candidate.

“There is only one circumstance in which Dilma will not be a candidate for re-election: if she does not want to be.”

2011: “Dissent is what rescues Democracy”

Global Research

The year 2011 will bring Americans a larger and more intrusive police state, more unemployment and home foreclosures, no economic recovery, more disregard by the US government of US law, international law, the Constitution, and truth, more suspicion and distrust from allies, more hostility from the rest of the world, and new heights of media sycophancy.

Airline call for terrorist profiling rejected by Berlin

Berlin – A call by an airline industry leader for Germany to focus security checks on high-risk passengers, as Israel does, was rejected Wednesday by senior officials in Berlin.

Christoph Blume, soon to take over as president of the German Airports Association, or ADV, had called for Germany to categorize passengers by ethnic origin, sex, age and marital status, so that people unlikely to be terrorists are not so closely checked.

He said the procedure, known as profiling, would make more sense than more elaborate baggage searches.

But Germany’s Interior Ministry showed no enthusiasm. Read the rest of this entry »

Labour’s PFI debt will cost five times as much, Conservatives claim

Posted by seumasach on December 28, 2010

These are some of the hidden debts which make Britain the world’s leading economic basket case, its AAA rating notwithstanding. Here we have a cool £15,000 per head for a lot of tenth rate new schools and hospitals some of which are unlikely to be still standing while the debt is still being paid off.

Telegraph

27th December, 2010

The schemes were a pet project of Gordon Brown as chancellor and involved companies taking on the upfront capital costs of paying for public building schemes such as hospitals or motorways in return for receiving substantial rates of return over long periods of time.
