THE ACTION GOES ON!

European Academy for Environmental Medicine

Until now we have collected more than 15.000 signatures all over the world from Malaysia, Australia, Canada, mostly Europe supporting the Luxembourg Appeal,. Thank you all for your help!

We continue this action and need further support.

Regarding the statements of SCENIHR and SCHER – both dealing with mercury and dental amalgam – we have to offer more scientific expertise to this debate of the health damaging character of mercury from dental amalgam. The running risk awareness, assessment and risk communication is dominated by scientist concerning the dose relationship effects of toxins only. Low dose long time as well as multi factorial burdening, immunological effects on toxins and individual susceptibility are not in the mind of these scientists.
Problem is the main stream science represented by Toxicology, Hygiene and Public Health is heard as the only consultant from politics there will be no change in progress in this matter. That will mean prolonged harm to people suffering from mercury out of dental amalgam.
Therefore we urgently need further international support to make EU-Commission clear that there must be a ban of mercury from dental amalgam immediately.

See our reaction on SCENIHR statement (Consultation Response Form SCENIHR preliminary report on “The safety of dental amalgam and alternative dental restoration materials for patients and users”) below as well as other supporting statements.
Also attached the statements of SCHER.

We will keep the action on Luxembourg Appeal collecting signatures open aiming the next step of 25.000 signatures or even more.

Please go on supporting the resolution.

Luxembourg Appeal:

Towards an International Ban on Mercury in Dental Amalgam

On the 10th of November 2007 in a resolution end of a congress a “Luxembourg Appeal” was declared and signed in order to exert political pressure on European Union and national health authorities in Europe.

The “Luxembourg Appeal” demands that

  • the numerous scientifically-based warnings are finally acknowledged and
  • the use of mercury in dental materials is banned without delay

We ask worldwide for international scientists, researchers, physicians, dentists, NGOs and patient groups to sign the “Luxembourg Appeal. Until January 2008 we expect couple of thousand of signatories. Then these demands will be sending to the EU-Commission, to the WHO as well as to all national health authorities in Europe.

You are able to give your agreement to the “Luxembourg Appeal” by e-mail or mail. Please follow the form as you see attached.
