Astronomy has little to celebrate in 2009!

For those who haven’t noticed, this year is “The International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009).” The International Year of Astronomy will involve 135 nations and thousands of events around the world. It marks the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the first use of an astronomical telescope by Galileo Galilei.

However, astronomers have little to celebrate in 2009. They have usurped the role of the church and cast out a modern-day Galileo!

Astronomers are repeating the mistakes of the Roman Catholic Church in Galileo’s day by refusing to accept what telescopes are showing them. The fear is the same – of having cherished dogma swept away, and with it their authority. It seems to be the nature of authorities to nurture and perpetuate self-servingmyths

Is Nature Warning Us of a New Ice Age?

Posted by seumasach on January 16, 2009

“The intent of the global warming scare is to reduce world population. That is the stated intent of its initiators and of such important promoters of this and related anti-science scares as the World Wildlife Fund, founded by Britain’s Malthusian Prince Philip and former Nazi SS officer Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Isn’t it time to stop being a sucker for the fear- mongering of people with another agenda—a very evil agenda whose end result will be the reduction of world population from its current level of 5 to 6 billion to less than 2 billion souls, with the concomitant dissolution into perpetual war, famine and human misery that such a plan must entail?”

If such an agenda really does exist, I would suggest that the neo-Malthusians have hit on a much more effective device for population elimination and one based on the last word in technical progress: the telecommunications system. EM radiation can be destructive of life in general but also interferes with the ability of insects, birds and animals to orientate themselves. The disappearance of the bees and other pollinators ultimately  heralds our own demise. Significantly, “global warming”, or rather “climate change” is being consistently used in the media as a cover for this apocalyptic development. Here is some more background:

January 14, 2009 (LPAC)–Global warming fears aside, all students of climate science know that the Earth is presently in an Ice Age and has been for approximately the past 2 to 2.5 million years. This Ice Age has been characterized by successive advances and retreats of a glacial ice sheet, originating in Greenland and extending across the northern portions of the North American and Eurasian continents. Just 12,000 years ago, the undisputed geological evidence shows that New York, Chicago, and all of North America up to the Arctic regions were under a sheet of ice, estimated to have been from 1 to 2 miles thick. Mountain glaciers also extended downward from the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachians in regions further to the south than the main glacial mass. A similar situation prevailed over most of Germany, northern France, the British Isles, Scandinavia, Poland and other parts of eastern Europe, and Russia.

Disappearing Bees- Ecological Catastrophe Draws Near

Posted by seumasach on January 16, 2009

As we never cease to stress, all mention of one likely cause of CCD is carefully avoided by the authorities, the “greens” and most of the beekeepers: EM radiation from the mobile phone network and, possibly, HAARP. There is, however, overwhelming evidence that this is indeed the cause of the “mysterious” disappearance of the bees, as well other insects, birds, bats and other creatures. One common factor in the disappearance of these creatures is disorientation caused by interference in their capacity to direct themselves by the earth’s magnetic field. Here is some more background:

Meshaal: Resistance Won’t Accept Israeli Conditions

Posted by seumasach on January 16, 2009

16/01/2009 Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal addressed Arab leaders in the Doha meeting Friday and thanked them for supporting the Palestinians and their cause.
Speaking in the absence of Mahmoud Abbas and other Arab leaders, Meshaal seized the opportunity to praise the determination of Gazans and the heroic resistance there.
“I tell Gazans that they are not alone, and they should be proud.”

The 22-member Arab League says Doha has failed to secure the quorum of 15 required for a formal Arab Summit, but Qatar has gone ahead with a broad consultative meeting that has attracted Meshaal, the Iranian president and Turkish officials.
13 of the Arab League’s 22 members went ahead despite objections of the PA, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Turkey: Israel must be barred from UN

Posted by seumasach on January 16, 2009

PressTV

16th January, 2009

Turkey’s Prime Minister has called for Israel to be barred from the UN as long as it ignores international calls to stop war on Gaza.

“How is such a country, which does not implement resolutions of the UN Security Council, allowed to enter through the gates of the UN (headquarters)?” Recep Tayyip Erdogan inquired on Friday.

The remarks came before UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s arrival in Ankara to discuss the conflict and amid growing outrage in Turkey over Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

Erdogan lashed out at the Israeli army’s raids on civilians under the pretext of targeting the Palestinian fighters in the territory. He also accused the Israeli media of falsely suggesting that Hamas uses civilians as human shields in the Gaza Strip.

The UN chief, who traveled to the West Bank on Thursday, has urged an end to the ‘unbearable’ situation in Gaza and called on Israel for a unilateral humanitarian truce.

Last Thursday, the UN Security Council approved a resolution which demanded an “immediate” and “durable” ceasefire leading to the “full withdrawal” of Israeli forces from Gaza. It also called for “the unimpeded provision and distribution throughout Gaza of humanitarian assistance, including of food, fuel and medical treatment.”

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, however, vowed to resist outside pressureand push ahead with the military action against Gaza, while Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said Israel would act ‘only according to its interests’

Weeks of ceaseless Israeli airstrikes and tank shelling have so far killed more than 1,133 Palestinians across the impoverished coastal sliver, which has been under Israel’s crippling blockade since June 2007.

On Friday, Turkish President Abdullah Gul renewed calls for an immediate cease-fire and urged US President-elect Barack Obama to focus on a comprehensive, long-lasting and fair solution to the issue once he is in office.
