Reports say Israeli troops and Palestinian fighters also exchanged fire near Jabaliya refugee camp in the Gaza Strip on Sunday.

“We have had at least five launches from the Gaza Strip and four of them fell in the area of Sderot,” an army spokesman said referring to an Israeli town five kilometers from the Gaza border.

There is no immediate reports of casualties.

In spite of an Israeli truce declaration, Israeli helicopters, , shelled the Gaza City with white phosphorus bombs.

Israeli helicopters shelled the Gaza City with white phosphorus bombs hours after Tel Aviv’s announcement of a ‘unilateral ceasefire’.

The Israeli military had no immediate comment on the incidents.

Israel has been considering a ceasefire in Gaza despite its earlier announcement that it waged Gaza war to prevent Palestinian resistance fighters from firing rockets into Israel. Tel Aviv later said it wants to topple Hamas government in the Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister however said after the declaring the supposed ‘unilateral ceasefire’ that Tel Aviv has achieved its ‘goals’ in the impoverished Palestinian silver.
