In These New Times

Here are extracts from some Emails from Raed in Gaza which we have had forwarded to us. Note particularly  this astounding piece of psychological terror used by the Israelis:

“4 days ago was receiving  call from Israel army threatening us that they will bomb our home at midnight ,imagine how was difficult for us such thing running at nights while kids sleeping trying find another safe place ,the israely army from the starting of this process trying make a kind of terror by calling normal civil and threatening them by calls to make you feeling unsecured any where you are”

6th January

many thanks for your sympathy and support ,really we are living so terrible times here i am feeling so scared never felt like that ,yes lived many crises but not like this i was going crazy when yesterday at midnight woke up and found my daughter Lea 2,5 years old near me in dark as no electricity was covering her face and uncovering it during the air force attacks near my home ,she is still so young to understand what is going around she was so scared trying in dark see or understand what is going i had a torch light near me and kept it lightening for her till morning and hug her between my arms till that she could go sleep again.maybe i was planning stat longer in UK but my failure in the exam and the death of my wifes father made it so short but feeling so happy could come back again other wise i could be stocked in uk while my kids could face all of that alone here.4 days ago was receiving  call from Israel army threatening us that they will bomb our home at midnight ,imagine how was difficult for us such thing running at nights while kids sleeping trying find another safe place ,the israely army from the starting of this process trying make a kind of terror by calling normal civil and threatening them by calls to make you feeling unsecured any where you are,here i don’t mention the big shortage in food ,electricity or heating in this cold winter,even calls and internet service soon it will stop not sure if i will be able contact you during next days what you see is nothing in front of that moment when hearing rackets falling and don’t know if you are the next or not and feeling your home moving from the explosion near you and doors and windows destroyed by that,at same time hugging your kids to your arms and trying make them feeling secure while you are inside so scared…………

what I told you is just one drop from an ocean of the tragedy existing here in gaza now and before ,do not remember one day felt free even when traveled abroad ,israel made us feeling occupation inside our souls ,its not pleasure feeling when seeing other people abroad feeling alive while inside you that death feeling ,all our life is tragedy ,since 1948 till now ,my grandfather ,father ,me and my son lived this occupation and this unsecure life all the time not only in this crises but along all our lifes ,my son khaleel 5,5 years old and from starting this crises he started unvolantary pissing day and night from scared feeling ,really do not know for how long time can hold all of that and really do not know if i will live that day when feeling free and do not know how is it looking that feeling ,all what i hope that make my kids life more secure and not allow them live what i lived…

11th January

today was near to be killed while driving and the airforce bombed the car in front of me while was coming from my work,in best condition i can move for 4 to 5 h per day and looks its even that becoming not safe most of days keeping at home even not going to work,i am still alive.

13th January

….just now another attack started wanted inform you about other kind of bombs they are using not only the phosphorus bomb which not allowed to use against civilians which can cause sever burns reaching the bones and affecting the respiratory center but also they are using other 2 types of bombs which by its explosion making very sharp small shrapnel’s which can leads to sharp cuts in bodies and fly to very wild radius from the explosion so its against persons bombs which not allowed used in a very heavy populations areas like our thats leads to a lot of injuries also the most terrible one what they are using since few days its a new kind of heavy bombs which by its explosion do not give noise looks like kind of ultrasound bombs which go deep in the earth and making a vibration of the land in all of the city where i am living they are talking about kind of bombing which can make vibration of the land near to 5,8 by Richter scale,this mean that all the buildings here under serious risk of falling over our heads so no safe place even at home.
do not want remember you also the lack of food fuel and other life needs as we were under  closed borders for near to 2 years before this war  starts……..

14th January

..i am so scared this day is the most difficult day bombing around us each 3 min by heavy bombs hope see next morning safe with my family…..
