Despite a serious outbreak of swine flu in neighboring Ukraine, the Polish government played it cool last week. Polish Health Minister Ewa Kopacz announced that she was not planning to stock up on swine-flu vaccine until it had been properly tested.

Barnardo’s warns of Britain’s secret trade in child sex

A secret network of organised child sex traffickers is operating within Britain, according to the charity Barnardo’s.
Approximately one in six of the sexually exploited children currently being helped by the organisation say they have been moved between cities and passed around between paedophiles.
Martin Narey, chief executive of Barnardo’s, warned of a “hidden” problem in which vulnerable youngsters, many of whom have run away from home, are shunted around the country to increase their isolation. Read the rest of this entry »

Under normal circumstances, when a public health measure is advocated or mandated, and it is accepted without question by all Federal health agencies, state and local health departments, and promoted by the mainstream media with unquestioning support from the orthodox medical community, then it is assumed that such measures at the very least meet basic scientifically proven criteria. Foremost should be public health safety and that the proven efficacy of a health program be implemented according to rigorous scientific gold standards. When this standard is ignored and denied, as is now being done by our health officials, then the wellbeing of the nation is placed at risk. Consequently, we see the concerns regarding the swine flu vaccine focusing upon supply rather than health. For our government health officials at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), vaccines have been baptized safe and, therefore, there is no reason for further debate. In fact, so certain are those in charge of the nation’s vaccination programs, even democratic discourse about vaccination controversies has been marginalized and smothered. There is no dissenting opinion published in any major industrial medical journal or magazine, nor found on any of government health websites.

Le secrétaire à la défense Robert Gates devient un cas important de possible contestation au sein de l’administration Obama. Il avait été maintenu à son poste (où il se trouve depuis novembre 2006) avec la réputation flatteuse d’une continuité modérée de la politique du Pentagone sous GW Bush, nuancée encore plus dans le sens de la modération par une attitude politique qui lui avait fait effectivement tenir un rôle de modérateur décisif de la “politique de l’idéologie et de l’instinct” marquant la période triomphante de l’époque Bush (de 9/11 à novembre 2006). Brusquement, on devrait commencer à percevoir que la position de Gates devient plus fragile, en même temps qu’il commence à être identifié à une politique dure du Pentagone… Question de déplacement relatif des acteurs et de la pression des événements: la politique modérée du Pentagone de Gates sous GW Bush devient plus dure à cause des déplacements relatifs, d’une part de la puissance des USA vers l’effondrement, d’autre part de l’évolution de l’administration Obama dans certains domaines. Ces changements conduisent, de surcroît, à une maladresse nouvelle de Gates dans ses interventions.
