The world hasn’t begun to recover from the events of 1991, a true annus terribilis whose watershed nature was insufficiently appreciated at the time and has been practically ignored since.
The year initiated the first attempt in history to enforce worldwide military, political, economic and cultural unipolarity; the advent in earnest of neoliberalism with all the devastating economic and social consequences it has wrought since then; the genesis of US-led and Western-supported air, ground, counterinsurgency and proxy wars against defenseless targets from the Middle East to the Balkans, South Asia to Africa.

With every passing day the deep, strategic, unspoken and unspeakable agenda of the Anglo-american elite becomes clearer: that agenda is genocide.

A special issue in the field of war crimes committed by occupation forces in Afghanistan are so-called uranium weapons (1). Uranium is a heavy metal – and, as a consequence, has an extremely strong armour piercing effect. Since dirt-poor Afghanistan clearly cannot afford the luxury of any special armour-plating, the question has to be asked: what purpose does the use of such specialised weaponry serve when the military necessity is questionable?

Almost eight months after the US – followed by most NATO members –recognized the occupied Serbian province of Kosovo as a dependent state, the Serbian government finally did something about it. On October 8, the UN General Assembly approved Serbia’s request to seek the opinion of the International Court of Justice about the legality of Kosovo’s separation. Albania, the US and four Pacific island nations in its orbit were the only votes against. For a moment, Belgrade basked in victory, no matter how feeble or immaterial.

Yes, everyone knows that Kosovo is run by the pimping, drug trafficing terrorists of the KLA and that, equally, US/UK and EU policy rests on backing them to the hilt. Reform would seem a long shot but just how bad things are is clear from the fact that the likes of HRW feel obliged to draw attention to the situation.

During the past several weeks, the public’s attention has been focused on various recent geopolitical developments, and the expiration of Slovenia’s Presidency over the Council of the EU on July 1 is going to remain almost unnoticed against the background. Yet this was the first time in the EU history when such a prominent role was played by a Slavic Balkan country, and high expectations were associated with the fact in the Balkan region.

MOSCOW, July 1 (RIA Novosti) – The parliament set up by the Serbian community in Kosovo is a logical response to Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Kosovo Serbs gathered last Saturday in the ethnically divided city of Mitrovica for a session to inaugurate their own legislative body, calling it the Assembly of the Union of Municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo, and draft its mandate.

This report gives insight into what is happening on the ground in the Serbian province of Kosovo. Unfortunately, its appeal to the State Department will undoubtedly fall on deaf ears.
