The Israeli attack on the Gaza flotilla has put the ending of the blockade  of Gaza at the top of the agenda of all who fight for justice. The genocidal acts of the Israeli government are become proverbial but let us not forget that they do not act alone. The British government has revealed it complicity or approval, damning itself with the faintest of condemnation. This is a government which justifies its occupation of Afghanistan by the need to fight terrorism; which is always the first to see others as complicit in terror; yet is unable to condemn  an overt act of terrorism, of piracy on the high seas. British support for Israel should not surprise us: Britain created Israel and Christian-Zionism and British -Israelism are formative ideologies of the British state. British imperialism never died ; it has merely transmuted itself into a new imperial project based on the London-Washington-Tel Aviv axis. This project of “full-spectrum- dominance’ is an undisguised quest for global domination which represents a clear and present danger to world peace and to humanity itself. The Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, the Iraqi and Afghan people are on the front line in the struggle against this malign power. Last week’s  homicidal outburst of the lunatic Israel state epitomises the essential madness of the imperial agenda but let us not forget that Britain and the US have committed similar acts from torture and massacre to genocide. Let us then take a stand on behalf of the people of Gaza fully cognisant that the breaking of the blockade will not only end their suffering but will be a blow for freedom everywhere: it will hasten the  the dismantling of the racist Israeli state as well as the entire apparatus of war and empire.
