Tehran’s « green revolution » is the latest version of the « color revolutions » which have allowed the United States to impose subservient governments in several countries without needing to use force. Thierry Meyssan, who advised two governments facing this type of crisis, analyses this method and the reasons for its failure in Iran.

« Color revolutions » are to revolutions what Canada Dry is to beer. They look like the real thing, but they lack the flavor. They are regime changes which appear to be revolutions because they mobilize huge segments of the population but are more akin to takeovers, because they do not aim at changing social structures. Instead they aspire to replace an elite with another, in order to carry out pro-American economic and foreign policies. The « green revolution » in Tehran is the latest example of this trend.

On July 28, troops in Honduras ousted President Manuel Zelaya and flew him out of the country. Praised by the traditional left for his economic policies and social reforms, Zelaya’s alliance with Hugo Chavez and growing relationship with the ALBA countries were sharply rebuked by the more conservative sectors which also disapproved of his periodic attacks on the United States. From Costa Rica, Zelaya declared: “This was a plot by a very voracious elite, which wants to keep this country in an extreme level of poverty!”. However, it seems improbable that the Honduran elite would have toppled the democratically-elected president without Washington’s prior consent and support, despite assurances to the contrary.

UK economy shrinks at fastest rate for 50 years
Miles Costello, Grainne Gilmore
The UK economy shrank by 2.4 per cent in the first quarter at the fastest rate in more than 50 years and far worse than expected, according to official figures today.
Revised figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that, between January and March, the economy contracted by its fastest pace since 1958. The ONS revised down its initial estimate, showing a contraction of 1.9 per cent. Read the rest of this entry »

A warning bell on California muni bonds
As sure as the sun will set on the Golden State, analyst Martin Weiss says California is going to default.

NEW YORK (Fortune) — Known for his early warnings on Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, analyst Martin Weiss of Weiss Research is now sounding the alarm about state of California municipal bonds.
In a new report, Weiss has some rather blunt advice for California muni investors: “Sell all California paper now!” His reasoning? California is facing a $24 billion budget gap with no obvious way to close it. Read the rest of this entry »

Alkalize for Health
I was asked to write a paper on some of the newer mechanisms of vaccine damage to the nervous system, but in the interim I came across an incredible document that should blow the lid off the cover-up being engineered by the pharmaceutical companies in conjunction with powerful governmental agencies.

The Canadian Press reported on February 27, 2009, that Illinois-based pharmaceutical company Baxter International released “contaminated flu virus material” from its plant in Ortho-Donau, Austria, to another Austrian firm, Avir Green Hills Biotechnology, which then sent the now-contaminated vaccine product to sub-contractors in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany. The vaccine in question contained a mix of H3N2 and live H5N1 (current avian flu strain) viruses. The contamination was discovered when the subcontractor in the Czech Republic inoculated ferrets with the product and they all died. Since ferrets should not have died from injections containing H3N2 viruses, the product was tested and the contamination was discovered. Baxter claims the contamination was accidental.
